Has anyone voiced issues about overlooking App?

Sep 7, 2015, 11:43 AM

I haven't seen much concern here for a team that has traditionally posed some issues for D-IA competition. I'm a little nervous about what seems to be looking ahead to Louisville.

I have respect for App state. Louisville, if not for all their silly errors(they have a young team too) should've beat Auburn. But app state is not even close to Louisville in athletes, our team isn't over looking anyone and is focused.

I think the coaches and the players will be focused and will be ready to play as they were this past Saturday.
Coach Swinney said 1 game at a time.

Nothing to worry about with App St tbh

We have nothing to worry about. App st might catch some people off guard, but not us. Dabo and Deshaun are focused. I'll honestly be surprised if we put up less than 42 and if they put up more than 10

No one here is taking the field Saturday. The team and the coaches seem focused. They are the ones that matter.

With all his success, his highest salary was $25,000 a year. The president of the university, Dr. R. F. Poole, feared that professors who earned less would be upset. "He called me up and said that he didn't want me to tell anybody what I made," Howard once said. "I said: 'Doc, you don't have to worry. I'm as ashamed as you are of what you pay me.' Ask Michigan about looking ahead and not being focused. How did that turn out? I don't think the coaches will let them lose focus.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think anyone is taking them for granite

Sep 7, 2015, 2:00 PM

How many years has it been since we lost to an unranked opponent? 3 or 4? The coaches will have them ready to play.

I might take them for marble... but never for granite.***

Dabo Swinney is too good of a coach to overlook any team. There's a difference between overlooking and worrying. I would bet Dabo's not at all worried about App. I'd also bet he's not overlooking App.

As for App putting up more than 10, I would hope we'll do better than Wofford. I do think Clemson will win ... and should win. I don't think it will be the cakewalk some Clemson fans expect nor the tight game some App fans expect.

How does a fan not being concerned about a game have any affect on the outcome of the game?

We as fans may be overlooking App State but I seriously doubt Dabo and Company are lefty the team overlook them. They Will be ready.

I think they're a good lower-level FBS team. They're probably comparable to a Cuse/Virginia/Wake Forest type of opponent, but we shouldn't struggle with them. Yes, they beat a crappy Michigan team, but we are a top-10 caliber team. Even with an off game, we have fairly well disciplined and highly athletic players who aren't going to lose to App State. They're worried about their secondary, which could mean a huge day for Watson.
