Happy Guy Fawkes Day!

I have no idea what it's about (just kidding, I do, but I think it's ridiculous all the same) but there's lots of fireworks going off all over Christchurch tonight. It's a mild Spring evening and the wine is cold and I'm planning to watch the Tigers play on Sunday morning, so that's what I call a successful weekend. I know we've got an election coming up and disagreements and partisanship are everywhere to be found, but I hope we're all taking a few moments to tune out all the ######## and just appreciate this season and the run we've been on for really the last few years. It won't always be this way, and it doesn't come around often, so enjoy it.

Seriously, enjoy it.

Wine is cold? New Zealand whites are my favorite whites! Wife likes Pinot Grigio, I like the NZ Sauvignon Blancs. What you got?

I'm normally into the Otago reds but this is a very good chardonnay (and it probably shouldn't be as cold as I'm drinking it) from Saint Clair. And NZ Sauv Blancs are some of the best in the world I think.
