Bowl games today had odd feel. Not as much fun as Jan 1

bowl games of past --- before the NFL owned Sunday. After New Year's Eve playoff games, the games today seemed lame, un-meaningful. Back in the old days, the last two games on New Year's Day were the bowls that usually determined the national championship.

i understand why the bowls have been restructured. I'm just missing that New Year's Days of past. When you set up two TVs to watch the Orange and Sugar Bowls at the same time. And yes, I am old. But those are very fond memories. We can't go backwards, but I would like to get New Year's Day away from the NFL.
