The GOAT, Herschel Walker never scored on Clemson. Sounds right to me.

Only changes I would make would be Herschel and Archie Griffin at RB. You might could argue the following: Tommy Frazier, QB, Steve Emtman or Fridge at DT, Anthony Carter or Peter Warrick WR. I would also add Johnny Rodgers as the return guy with Spiller probably in the conversation

Ray Guy -punter, he was the first punter ever to be drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. I'm not sure I know of another college kicker that has ever kicked a 93 yard punt.

I'm sure people can come up with the odd change, but that's a solid team you've selected. Well done.

Either of your DTs can be replaced with Reggie White , but they're both all time greats for sure . Herschel Walker and Barry Sanders should be the RBs and Tim Tebow wouldn't have made my top 5 at QB . QB on my list is Peyton Manning .

I intend starting my list today but have a question. Is this list based only on stats, and championships or can it include those players you grew up watching and liked, even if they didn't have the stats of some other players? I might go back a few years before you do(I'm 68) and have been watching college football since the late '50s. So with that in mind, Here is an example of the one player I would take over any other QB out there: #12 from Navy Roger Staubach. He didn't have the stats or the championship rings, but he had grit, determination, and most of all Leadership.

People may hate him but I would argue Brian Bosworth was one of the best College Linebackers I ever saw

Tebow threw one pass against Ohio State in 2006. That was Chris Leak's team.

Probably go with Terry Kinard at Safety and Bo Jackson at RB. Bo was better than Herschel. If you want a better QB than Tebow look at one of those BYU guys or Andre Ware if looking for stats and awards - no championships though except the Natty for BYU.

What about 1988 Barry Sanders?

That's one of the greatest seasons in the history of CFB.
Also, and i know a lot of people hate him, Cam Newton in 2010 was one of the most dominant QB seasons in history too. His 2010 season was better than any of Tebow's.
Both of these guys only had 1 huge year though so it depends on what kind of criteria you want to use. Is it just the best peak or the greatest 3-4 year career.

Vince Young or Joe Montana at QB Earl Campbell and Herschel Walker at RB Jeff Davis was a good as it gets for College LB If Rimington is the top center then put William Perry at tackle or nose guard because Rimington got pushed around by him.
