Good question. Maybe the system is great due to how bad our basketball is. We get tournament money and rarely go.

Jeez, so we lose money making it to the playoff and championship game I would assume. ACC needs to rework this, but I guess that’s not in their interest so it will stay.

From how I understand this, the ACC is the only conference that pools all bowl game payouts together. Since our conference has 10 bowl teams I wonder if the pooled amount actually ends up being a fairly decent amount.

Seems like it works out well for us since we suck so bad in hoops and we get that money from the quality teams of the ACC basketball season.

Clemson is propping up the ACC in football and that's all we get? That s*cks! This needs to be revisited. It's not ok that the SEC team gets so much more if they win.

Clemson gets expense reimbursement to the tune of several million per playoff game. Also, the CFP pays each of the P5s and lesser amounts to ND and G5’s directly. The portion for ACC and other 4 p5 conf is like $50+ mil apiece and that’s regardless if the conf has a team in. As for direct payments for participation the NY6 pay moremuch per team than playoffs but again that $ goes to ACC as well to be divided like UVA in the OB.
