I would say that scenario would be an anomoly....

but could occur if several new donors (or old donor for that matter) decided to make larger contributions than you do in order to improve their seating assignments.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Yes it can and does happen...

You are not the only one I've heard this happening to. Money talks (not saying it's good or bad) and there must have been some higher donations this season...quite a few of them in fact.

Not entirely accurate

Clemson does not bump ticket holders who wish to retain their seats AND pay enough to do so. I think a lot of people were probably caught with their pants down when the Seat Equity prices rose.

Seat Equity Prices rose $50/seat this year

If I had to guess, I'd guess that you having "donated at same level of IPTAY" disqualified you from sitting in your traditional seats because the Seat Equity prices rose, and you were moved to the next-best-available. For example if you donate $700/year and have 4 tickets in "red" seats, last year your donation covered the costs of all 4 seats: $140/seat for $560. This year red seats are $190/seat for $760. If you didn't add that $60 to your IPTAY donation, you're no longer eligible for those seats.

IPTAY did not explain this particularly well in my opinion, but they did provide plenty of advance warning it was going to happen.

Good explanation****

Is it Groundhog Day again? And where is Punxsutawney Phil?

I feel like it's deja vu all over again.
