Just heard him answering a question that (paraphrased) asked, "With so many new starters did you expect them to play that well?"

He gets that little grin on his face and says, "They're new starters but they're not new players." Then he goes down the line talking about how much previous game time these guys have had in previous seasons.

Here is what I think he was thinking:
1. It's called depth.
2. We recruit top players every year.
3. That's why we play so many guys every year.
4. We don't rebuild, we reload.
5. And, next year after the first game you'll ask me the same question and I'll give you the same answer.

"They're new starters, but they're not new players."

Don't bet on the spread for the first quarter of the season. It's been the same for at least 4 years now since we've developed depth. He plays everyone and some of the 3's are green.

Yep... Many programs do like the pro's and have a lineup that only changes with an injury...If TL or TE are playing with 7 minutes left, we are in a dogfight...And we don't get in many of those..

That is exactly how you build depth. After the Citadel game, look how much playing time the backups have received. Probably 2 or 3 quarters in only 2 games.

year after year about how much we sub and that prevents more extreme blowouts (and/or heisman trophies).

At this point, I have to think those complainers are just trolling.

The way this program is run is a work of art.
