Call them what you want, but the fraternities, sororities, and other groups bring the excitement and atmosphere that is needed in the student section.

They didn’t “all” get disbanded. Most are fine young men. The few who do stupid things cause knee-jerk discipline from administrators. My son was just recognized by Greeklife honor society (at Clemson) for being in the top 3% academically. He’s also the chaplain of his fraternity. He didn’t need to rush in order to be a better student or person, but I’ve enjoyed watching his leadership qualities develop over the past couple years. The charitable and community service contributions he has helped organize have made an impact locally, and I’m confident he will use that experience to do even greater things in life. Say what you will. Those kids are tomorrow’s leaders.

Yes many become leaders just like other students at Clemson, but they are not what bring excitement to games. In fact they were the only cause for concern over leaving early or not showing up when I was a student. Through their numbers they had an easier path for camping out and waiting in line for tickets in groups just like everyone else did. Yet they were given ticket in large quantities to leave empty bleacher sections by halftime.

Greek students wear off-colors, bowties, and are the main culprits for showing up late/leaving early

Maybe it used to be different, but most fraternity guys I know wear a Clemson colored polo or button down to games, which isn’t different than what a good bit of independents wear. The only ones wearing ties are pledges, and most fraternities that I know only allow pledges to wear long ties. And that’s not even all fraternities. Some fraternities just say a collared shirt and khakis for pledges on game day

The "Clemson colored polo" is usually a salmon or very light orange color. I saw a lot of light blue or very light purple than anything else. A good bit of navy blue too
Girls are even worse, they prioritize looking cute over wearing actual Clemson colors (which is fine, I guess) but still proves my point.
I graduated in 2013 and have attended many games since then, so it's not like this is ancient history, either

I hope not, I like being able to blame inconsequential problems on people I do not know.
