He says this and you can already hear him looking to back peddle. They guy is weaseley and very poor at his job. Not sure why he goes out of his way to hate on Clemson but he always does

Wasn't McShay the same guy who said mid last season that Watson was a borderline day 2 pick (round 3)?

That Watson is a dual threat quarterback and players with BOTH skills do not often succeed in the NF L. I assure you that the team who drafts him will not do so because he had success as a runner in college because he will not run the ball as a pro QB. It would be great if we didn't rely on his running a lot this year and allowed him to really put up some passing numbers but that will not likely happen. Boyd didn't make it as a similar player as Watson

He may be considered dual threat

but I think anyone that watches Watson can see that he is a passer who can run, over a runner that can throw the ball a little bit. That's the biggest difference between DW and some other guys that were considered dual threat QB's in college. The majority of the time he is looking to throw and only runs when protection breaks down or no one is open. He runs very few true read option or straight QB draw runs like Boyd. So even though he is considered dual threat I don't think DW will have any problem laying back in the pocket in the NFL and throwing the ball.

Run-first QBs haven't been able to succeed. Passing quarterbacks who have the ability to run have succeeded greatly. Just look at Rogers, Luck, Wilson, Kaepernick, Cam Newton...heck even Alex Smith has been a pretty good QB.
Anyway, great job by McShay here. He certainly isn't going with the flow to save face after saying Watson "could be as high as a Day 3 pick based on his potential".

McShay shouldn't have to look very hard. Only FBS QB to throw for over 4000 yards and run for over 1000 yards in a season. DW's character speaks for itself. Easy research for even someone like me! GO TIGERS!!!

Todd McDbag during the Miami game that DW would be a 5-7th round pick...

Step in smarter people and McDbag copies their opinion and now has him at number 1.

"Limited info on Watson's intangibles..." What?

There's plenty of info on Watson's intangibles. Has he lived under a rock the last 2 years? His intangibles are off the charts.
Just wait til McShay watches tape of DW4 during last year's BC game when his deep ball accuracy was probably the worst in his career in the first half. We all know it was an anomaly and his touch came back in the 2nd half, but you know McShay will take that 1 outlier data point and question his accuracy "after reviewing film".
