Elevation in Arizona?

Jan 10, 2016, 10:15 AM

Looked up the elevation in Glendale and its 1150 ft above sea level.

Clemson S.C. is 800 ft.

Are punts, FG's, kickoffs gonna travel farther?

I know my son said he could hit a golf ball alot further in New Mexico.

Also will it be easier to get winded because of elevation difference?

Anybody know anything about this?

300 feet won't matter.
Plus kicking in a dome stadium the air is heavier. I don't think it will matter at all

I've seen spots at 3300 ft. It's not just desert here. Pretty awesome scenery.

BTW, Clemson (Death Valley) is about 650' elevation

Lake Hartwell is 660' full pond, and the entire Athletic Campus is below lake level. The baseball stadium is 630'.

Insignificant difference

Now if they were a couple of hundred miles North in Flagstaff, elevation 6910 ft, this would be a serious problem. However the Bama boys would be subject to the same conditions.

Golf ball distance in NM could have more to do with drier, less humid air there.

I don't think it's enough to matter

I could tell the elevation difference in Denver when I walked up stairs. I never had any issues in Phoenix

Exactly. You won't know or realize altitude until you've been to Denver or its surrounding areas. I really noticed it when climbing the stairs to the top of Red Rocks Ampitheater last year.
