Since Elliott is flying solo with Scott’s departure

Wonder if he will “open the playbook?” I’ve been hearing for years of this sacred manual that rarely goes past the first few pages because we “we don’t want to show too much!”: that’s a preposterous notion not showing too much. If best is the standard the best plays need to be run whenever. What are they saving them for? If we didn’t need those super secret plays against LSU, toss out that book, we’ll never need them.

I bet the offense will look much like the offense over the 6 years. Slow start, vanilla play calling, and a partially closed playbook. The theory makes sense though, if there is less film of your full offensive repertoire, it should be harder to find footage and prepare for it.
Also I don’t think Elliot is “flying solo.” Didn’t Streeter take over Co-offensive coordinator responsibilities?

I haven’t seen where Streeter will be a co-coordinator .

The best example of one of those super secret plays that we hide from our opponents is the first offensive play we ran against LSU.

Why would we make changes? Our offense was the 5th most efficient in the country and we finished 2nd overall. Some of you rubes are never satisfied...

Why would we make changes? We need more production from our offense in big games. Your numbers are great to report but they are heavily skewed by playing the likes of UVA, NC State, UofSC, etc....
Regardless of national ranking, I assume you watched the National Championship and I would like to know if you were happy with the play calling? I for one was not. I would like someone to ask the question with a struggling QB why did you decide to call for difficult throws to the boundary versus more of what worked in routes across the middle to TE and handing it to a RB who was averaging nearly 6 yards a carry.
It's ok to think we had a good year but also ask questions when things don't look right.

I'd prefer we run less plays, just better ones.

Too much trickery and lateral movement for my tastes. Lots of wasted time and effort without consistent production to show for it (against good defenses).

I agree. Run the ball with ETN. They couldn't stop it but we didn't do it.

Imagine how great Clemson would be if the coaches spent more time reading Tigernet posts.
