The land that it sits on was donated to the church by a distant relative of mine...John Miller. He’s buried there.

It was a beautiful place to be married; a simple sophistication. We had our reception in the pavilion at the Madren Center. It was a perfect, Clemson wedding.

I know it was built in the early 1800's and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Andrew Pickens is buried in the cemetery. Pickens, of course, was a militia leader in the American Revolution and a member of the United States House of Representatives from South Carolina.

Pickens, SC was named after him.

membership to the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, Clemson families "adopted" new students, offering them a home away from home.

My "adopted" folks were a Mr. and Mrs. Luke Hamilton, he being a long time Clemson employee. I often visited them, enjoying meals, and they provided a place for my dates to stay during home football weekends. They, also, had two cute kids I was very fond of. After graduating I either wrote or visited them until both died, for I dearly loved their family.

And to this day I visit their graves at the Old Stone Church every time I return to Clemson. They were the salt of the earth, and I miss them.
