I don't know the exact differences, but from what I'm seeing and reading, the issue with a lot of schools and them having to cancel/postpone games stems not just from guys testing positive from from the contact tracing. That seems to be ruling out more guys than the positive tests. Does the ACC not do the contact tracing as strictly as others?
It did surprise me when Trevor tested positive that no one else was isolated as a result - no other QBs, coaches or linemen - people that he certainly had some type of contact with.
I don't think the ACC is necessarily safer, but maybe we have a bit less strict protocol for contact tracing isolations and quarantines. They sure were smarter, though, to start relatively early and build in some open dates in anticipation of this and to allow for rescheduling!
