Defense played to Maryland's level

Oct 27, 2013, 8:07 AM

Here is what Maryland did not play with:
Maryland played without several key injured starters, including quarterback C.J. Brown, running back Brandon Ross, wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Deon Long, and tight end Dave Stinebaugh.
Basically the whole offense and when you look at that then our defense yet again played to the level of the team. Should have been a killing but the offense turned it over at critical times.

Defense dominated until the game was over with

1 long first quarter TD and 2 FG's when the offense coughed it up on our own 20 yard line. Until the last 2 drives Maryland did nothing

Really liked the way Kearse and Wiggins played at

safety. Blanks looks lost and is in the process of getting beat out. DL is going to have to adjust tp Vic getting doubleteamed, twerps did the same thing FSU did and left a TE and back in almost every passing play to help with him

They played well but I wouldn't say dominated. MD QB missed

A lot of wide open receivers and had a lot of drops. A better team would have made those plays.

Yep. the announcers told us that a zillion

times before, during early, during late, at end - of game. Basically, we were playing a shell of their real team. Hard to miss all that.

That has been a recurring them for as long as I care to remember:
We allways play down to our opponents level.

I have watched your replies and have decided your full of it..... Give Maryland the ball twice inside the 20. 6 pts only. Intercept in the end zone. Zero points.

The prevent defense is what you hate and me too, but ask Missouri what you get playing pressure when your up by 17.

The defense played really well until we got up 20 pts

Oct 27, 2013, 8:47 AM

in the 4th q. 129 of their 364 yards came on two late TD drives when the game was over. I don't like giving up late scores either, but you can't really make an argument that it mattered.

Correct, same deal with Georgia and NC State. FSU beat the heck out of us, and if we dont play our best Usuc will too, but our problems are not on defense, we gotta get better running, throwing and catching. Who would have thought that? Lol
