I have no idea who Tigerjackoff or Marlborocountrytampon are. I don't know who you are; but I do know what you are. You are the worst kind of person on the internet. People using the internet as a stage to spew ignorance are bad; people trolling any and everyone are bad; but beyond either of these classes lies the class which you belong to: s***posting. You regurgitate the same ignorant, unfounded, incorrect opinion again and again. You do not care to explain your opinion ever. You actually spend time in the real world tracking down who you perceive to be your enemy and then post the same thing again and again. You are like Don Quixote lancing windmill monsters. You are like the thousands of other tin foil hat wearing social outcasts claiming the shadow government ran by Illuminati, who are really extraterrestrials, are controlling our every action. I bet in your personal and professional life you ramble on while people ignore you because they all know delusional you truly are.
Sincerely, A Real Clemson Alumnus

You could hear it all the way in Daniel Square where I was at the time. I actually left for campus when I had no reason to be there to join in on the singing. It was one of my most memorable moments.

in a mini rock festival the Central Dance Committee put on in Littlejohn in 1969 or 70. It was an all day affair with several different bands performing. I guess Steam was pretty much a one-hit wonder with Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.

The only tin cans I know of were the ones for married couples close to Daniel Square and Clemson House, where I lived, but they tore those down. My uncle who went there in the 80s called them the sardine cans. There was also Thornhill, which someone once told me had aluminum tops, but I have no idea if that is true or if they were thinking of the ole' tin cans. Again, when I was there, they were for married couples, but there were a lot of problems with them.

When Manning was built in the mid-late 60's, the girls moved from Mauldin and Barnette there, and then the jocks moved into those two. Summer school used Mauldin and Barnette for the wimmin and the shoeboxes and Manning(later Lever) for men--A/C and hot time in the summertime(Sly and the Family Stone).
watched Armstrong step onto the moon in Manning with a boot-leg TV(not allowed at that time) summer of 1969.

I never heard they weren't supposed to be allowed. I don't think we were supposed to have hot plates, but we had TVs and fridges. Of course, girls weren't allowed.

They weren't in Calhoun at that point. I think they were in those God awful duplexes behind Calhoun when I was there, at least for one of the summers as CJ was a resident of one of my friends who was an RA in whatever those things are called. I thought they were called Thornhill, but that may have been the new buildings across the bridge.

Yes, Johnstone...the infamous "tin cans". No AC...:

I remember moving into D in August 68, temp was about 95 outside, but it was about 110 in the cans. The cans were originally only to be temporary housing for the expanded student population, from going non-military and co-ed in the mid-50's. They were supposed to last about 10 years, then torn down as permanent housing was built. Instead, the tin cans were used for about 30 years. Thankfully, after a year in D, I moved to new A for my sophomore year, it had AC.

when I graduated. It was still there a couple of years ago when I went to go see a friend. Someone once told me it is one of only 3 raised-slab buildings remaining in the entire world. I don't know if that is true or not. The person said they tore them down because it's not the safest thing in the world. If memory serves, they said they learned it in Clemson 101. By the by, did anyone else have Rusty for 101? He was my favorite professor at Clemson.
