Dabo don't do it

How long will it be before Bama comes calling? I say two years, because we winning it all this year and will contend in 2017. Alabama will go two years without winning the NC and the chant will be get Dabo, don't do it coach

He might leave he might not. I say it is probably 50-50. Each year that we get better the chance of him leaving goes down. Also the new football operations facility makes it even better for our chances.
If he does leave the program will be in good hands.

Saban will have to want to retire. 5 more years I bet.....

until they come calling. They will come calling eventually though. Maybe Dabo doesn't go anywhere though? Although they will likely double his salary and that will be tough to turn down all hat casj from his alma mater.. Anyway, if he does leave in 5 years or whatever, we will be left in great shape anyway. He will be around for a longtime still, so no need to worry about it at this point.

It will be even easier to leave. He will probably already won a national title at Clemson and it will be that much easier. Won't his kids all be out of HS too? He will be turning down maybe 50 million dollars to stay too. Moreover, it would be a great story going home to the place where he walked on and lived with his Mom etc etc. They could almost make a movie out of that story. I am not saying he will go, and of course like all of us I hope he never goes, but it couldn't be an easier more rational transition and decision.

IMO the money would be the *only* upside for Dabo

... and I do think that Clemson will need to ante up significantly down the road if Dabo does enough in the next few years to make Alabama come calling with serious intent.
But, so far, Dabo hasn't given any particular indication that money is his primary motivation. Other than gross salary, from a coaching career perspective he's in a postion to do anything at Clemson that he could do at Alabama.
He has the chance to become a legend at Clemson and to stay in one place for his entire career ... and he will make all the money he and his family will ever need without putting himself in the pisiton of being "the guy who follows Nick Saban" with Bama.
As long as Clemson football maintains (and builds) on the current performance on the field and in the classroom and Dabo keeps getting what he wants and needs in the way of facilities and assistant coaches, etc., I think he's a Clemson Tiger for the long haul.
That's the way I see it, anyway.

What in Dabo's character says

He would uproot his family (His kids and wife are a Clemson family, not an Alabama family BTW)
At Alabama there would be no where to go but down!
At Clemson he continues to build his legacy.
It would be a strange set of events indeed for him to leave Clemson.
Just how I see it!

Enough already. Most coaches don't end up coaching at their Alma Maters.
In the FBS (128 schools) only 14 coaches are at their alma maters.
Besides, it makes no sense for any coach to build a program that can match Alabama's success over the years only to abandon it to go to Alabama.
It's never going to happen and I wish people would stop bringing it up. It's nonsense.
IMHO

an extra 50 million dollars over 10 to 15 years to stay at Clemson over his alma mater? I wish I was as confident as you are. If he does, his legend will grow even more. Hope you are correct.

Two points: Dabo is smart enough to know that "you don't want to be the guy that follows Satan, but rather the guy that follows the guy that follows Satan"! And, if he does by some chance go, he will have made Clemson into a Top 10 job, and good coaches will fall all over themselves contacting DRad.
