Coot Football On The Rise --

don't count on it. Why has coot football done well lately? 1. Let' face it - they have brought in talent.
2. But they have done well precisely when UGA has struggled and UF and UT have been down.

UGA, UF and UT are coming back and will regain credibility. Coot football will soon regain its place toward the bottom of their division. Count on it.

Do you see Muschamp and Dooley getting it done?

I think if given the chance they have 2-3 years before they make significant improvement.

I think Richt really needs to win the division this year or the heat will be on in Athens.

sos isn't going to coach much longer. as soon as uga,uf and tenn. start to play like they have in the recent past, sos will see his vision of bringing usuc to prominence was just a pipe dream, and he will exit stage left so fast it will be a blur. he wanted to come to usuc and prove he could win anywhere, and he is starting to see that it just isn't so.

dooley is gone after this year, and they will land a big name. ut has money and new unbelieable facilities. uf better get a lot better or muschamp is a goner as well. urban liar left program in a mess and imo muschamp is not ready for a program of that magnitude. i think he may have one more year but will be gone after that. steve spurrier will be at usc for 3-4 more years. assistants do most of the work anyway, he plays golf. he dont even recruit that much.

Something will have to happen that slows their recruiting. Success builds on success.

They will just hire another great coach. That is what they have been doing and that is the reason for their success, plain and simple.

Gray - these types of statements are good for rallying the troops but rally cries aren't often reality. Reality is Dooley is not getting it done at UT and he better win this year or he is gone. UT used to pull major talent every year out of SC but Dabo and Spurrier have slammed the door on that pipeline and both schools are getting more talent out of NC than they did in the past. The state of Tennessee has little D-1 talent and if UT can't recruit well in neighboring states then they will continue to struggle.

Muschamp is also still a question mark. UF just had their worst season in 30 years and he is installing a brand new offense this year with an offensive coordinator whose main claim to fame was he was Boise's OC for one year (2011) and he was successful. The question is, was he the brains behind Boise's success on offense or was it Peterson? Pretty obvious since Boise has been successful for quite awhile. If Muschamp doesn't show major improvement he could be on a serious hot seat.

UGA is the same UGA they have always been under Richt and SCAR/Spurrier has beaten them 3 of the last 5 years and SCAR plays them at WB this year. No reason to think SCAR can't beat them again.

Like it or not, that is reality. All that being said though, SCAR could still only go 8-4 this year or worse.

Yes, eventually Steve Spurrier will pass on into retirement, but what Holtz started, and Spurrier has taken further, will still remain in Columbia: the facilities are much, much improved and still improving, the talent base has gotten better, but most importantly everyone is now regarding the South Carolina football program in an entirely different light that to compare it with how USC was perceived prior to 2000 would have one thinking they are two totally different programs.

People at all levels of college football now know that you can win at USC, and that you can be competitive in most all areas with even the elite of the SEC. And the SEC as a conference is viewed differently now than what it was prior to the 2000s: if anything it is even more highly valued and regarded.

Spurrier will one day move on, but long gone are the days when USC has to look to assistant coaches or head coaches of D-1AA programs to head up it's FB program. Top names in FBS college coaching will line up to pick up where Spurrier left off, and top prospects in SC, NC, GA, even UF, NJ, and PA will continue to regard USC highly.

Only tremendous catastrophes like the '98 and '99 seasons could possibly rock USC back down to it's former levels, but digging that kind of hole will be even harder as the program is now atmospheric compared to where it was in '97.

IMO, as long as USC can keep Hyman as it's AD, USC is not going to fall for quite a long time, and most likely will continue to rise. The past for USC's FB program is simply that: a thing of the past.....

There 3 years are up as evidenced by their inevitable loss in the CWS. Time for them to come back to reality.
