It's Georgia Southern day!! My daughter got her acceptance

Oct 8, 2012, 7:38 PM

as well. I received news while by email while sitting in the upper deck of Saturday's game. I was overwhelmed with such happiness and pride for her. At that point nothing in the game seemed to really matter.

While I would have been ecstatic to see her a Tiger, Clemson is out of state for us and doesn't have the type of nursing program she wants. GSU was her top choice in Georgia and I couldn't be more proud of her. Besides, she was born a Tiger, raised a Tiger and will always be one!!

Hail Southern!! GSU Alum here. Congrats to your daughter!

I graduated from Georgia Southern for undergrad, and earned an assistantship at Clemson.

You are going to have to learn to hate Furman, Citadel and Wofford now. Oh, and Paul Johnson is a demi-god.

She wants to be a neonatal nurse practicioner. She just felt GSU was better suited for her but everytime we come up to Clemson she starts to rethink it. :)

You have to get your BSN first, then you go to graduate

school for the nurse practitioner degree. I would think you could do that also at Clemson.

My daughter is a freshman at Georgia Southern and loves it. Clemson was her first choice, however Barkers $40K out of state tuition is just not affordable or practical. With the GA Hope scholarship and other scholies we are paying a whopping $2K a semester.

GSU is very Clemson like in that it is a rural campus and has a lot of appeal.

Congrats to her and you Baltimore

Congrats. It's a great school and it is growing by leaps and bounds. She will enjoy the football program down there too.
