Who would it hurt if Clemson no longer played...

...the Coots?
I don't know of anyone on this board that enjoys playing this team every year.
There is no reward in it. It is stressful as H311. It jeopardizes the players the week before an ACCCG, and you all know how satisfying it is for the Coot team to injure a Clemson player with a cheap shot that would take them out of the ACCCG.
Honestly, what is the point of scheduling this game? Just for the sake of posterity?

Clemson gains absolutely nothing by playing them. The nation

has no respect for them so a win against them means zero. Everything to lose and nothing to gain by playing that scum.
Also, I feel filthy every time I leave that cesspool. It’s the worst of the human race.

I thoroughly enjoy playing the dirtpeckerz every year. It's called tradition. We win most and those are the greatest years. And of course we lose some.Just because you got in touch with your feely side because of the students throwing trash, doesn't mean we should stop playing our rival down the road. Not only did we soundly beat their ###, but THEY made them selves look horrible on national tv!HAHA!Laughs for days.Better yet, the first time in a long time after our victory the coots can't justify anything. My friends who are unfortunate enough to be raised #### loverz have nothing to say.No more never again or Dabo is a cheerleader. The Fun Is In The Winning!

I hate playing them, but it's state law.

Yes, as well as having to play a small instate school every year, on rotation. El Cid, Furman, Wofford, SC State, and Costal

Maybe the state law should be changed and not require either school to play any other small college and it does hurt the sos.

Depending on the year it can change, but it is my favorite game of the year otherwise. I absolutely live it. I hope we always play them.

I would think that most of us see FSU as our main actual football rival.

After all their talk of being on the rise the SC fans would be insufferable. Imo, playing SC every year is part of our identity.

As much as I dislike the game, we need to continue playing them. We win almost 70% of the time. Without this win they will believe (and preach to recruits) that they are better than us. We need this game to remind them (and recruits) who really rules this state in college football.

That's the only thing that makes it worth it to me. My wife's a coot. Try restrained exuberance all year, learning to gloat using just your skin tone.
