I’ve said this for years. Ground balls aren’t sure outs. The game just feels more intense and fast paced.

The endless similarities between the two games makes for obvious comparisons and I would agree that to the casual viewer softball is easier to watch.
However the differences between the games makes each have very different ways of entertaining the viewer.
Unfortunately for the sport of baseball, as attention spans get shorter people are having a harder and harder time sitting around watching the game.

mound is closer, and base paths shorter. Love both games but coaching 3 girls, I really learned to love fastpitch as much as baseball.

felt that it added a sport which appealed to prospective students (which also addressed Title IX compliance). Of course crew isn't going to be the spectator sport that others are. I'm okay with that.
Plenty of other sports are in the same category, such as swimming, diving, wrestling, etc. They aren't geared toward being a great spectator sport, but still address a need for many colleges.

Here are the “Cons”
Feb 7, 2020, 6:00 PM
|
|
The equipment is tremendously expensive, and requires an 18-wheeler to transport it to distant locals Lomé Boston.
And ... the lake doesn’t belong to the university in any way shape or form.
I’m not sure how they are able to block off that large stretch along the d!ke when they hold meets. Seems like fishermen and water skiers etc. would be up in arms.

If Clemson basketball won an ACC tournament, went to 4 straight NCAA tournaments, and won at least one game in the tournament in each of those years, you would get Brownell's face tattooed on your chest and would be demanding a lifetime contract for him.
Baseball has done that and you are here posting that "baseball doesn't accomplish much".
That's cute.

With softball, as with baseball, you get to sit out in the sunshine(hopefully) and more comfortable seats.

I agree. For me personally, my enjoyment of baseball/softball increases as the skill level decreases. I can't watch a pro baseball game. Those guys are so good it makes the game boring. College baseball is better because there are errors that lead to runs but it's still a little boring. Now women's softball is really interesting because you never know what's going to happen. Makes it fun to watch. That's the only women's sport I really like.
