Clemson Basketball Wish list

No clue whether the University plans to make a move or not at the end of the season with a new head basketball coach at Clemson. But what if they did... Who are some realistic candidates? With that said, I thought I would just throw out 5 names of interest. What's your take?
1- Butler's Chris Holtmann 2- Dayton's Archie Miller 3- Creighton's Greg McDermott 4- VCU's Will Wade 5- Texas's Shaka Smart
Who would you add? #21

Can't speak on most of these, but I don't think Shaka is going to leave Texas for Clemson.

Lavelle Moton.
He was my middle school gym coach. He's an awesome guy, young, and I think he would be a great recruiter.
Wouldnt be a huge splash hire but he has done really good things at nc central

Maybe Archie Miller though. I would love to get Mcdermott though since we are just wishing.

All are at smaller schools, and making half the money. Are they all waiting on the Nc job (or Duke)?

To become the team I expect, the recruiting must improve significantly. We are in a very important time right now and calling for the coaches head and degrading the current players is very foolish. I think it would be wise if you experts would keep your thoughts to yourselves. None of this banter that you continually spout helps in any way. Why not shut the F up? Our friends in Columbia need you.

affects anything. And except for a few, I'd wager all are still pulling for the team. Just not ignoring the obvious, we're in free fall

Why do you say that?

The only reason our job isn't historically a desirable one is because we try to get away with hiring mid-major coaches to save money and hope they workout. If we are truly committed to basketball, as I assume we are given the facility upgrades, we will pay a competitive salary.
It's pretty simple, really:
Competitive salary + nice facilities + ACC = plenty of great coaches interested in the job

Why did Barnes leave to Texas? Why did OP leave for a much lesser job?

Brownell will be at Clemson next year if he wins out the season. If his team continues to lose, he will not return.

He did great things at VCU, but he's having a really poor year at Texas. No excuse for that given the fact that he didn't walk into a bad situation at all.

Shaka had a high turnover of players after his first season including two early entries in the draft. He is only in his 2nd year. He is,recruiting really well. He will be fine.
I nominate Will Wade as my top choice. Shaka's replacement at VCU who was his top assistant there. Doing great things and recruiting like gangbusters getting 4 star recruits that teams like Clemson, Indiana, and Butler really wanted

1- Butler's Chris Holtmann He turned down Ga Tech job last year so I am not sure why he would have any interest in Clemson at all. ACC, new facilities, and more money were ALL available at Tech and he said no thanks. He also turned down Pitt and was offered but declined Tennessee. Butler is a better job today than Clemson. Not gonna happen.
2- Dayton's Archie Miller Miller may or may not have turned down Florida 2 years ago, Either way, experts have said it would take 3.5 a year to make Miller leave UD. Now whether UF was unwilling to pay that is unknown, but Miller has made it clear he loves UD and IF IF IF he leaves, it will take huge bank. Miller also told UNLV no thanks when they could not offer 3.5. Miller also turned down Pitt and Bama in the past.....he aint coming to Clemson to compete for 9th in the ACC.
3- Creighton's Greg McDermott he just signed a 10-year contract worth up to $22MM. He also has never coached outside the Mid West.
4- VCU's Will Wade The only reason he would leave VCU is the Clemson alumni angle. If he waits and is patient, then better jobs will come along. I am not sure he would take the job. Long term career path would be better to avoid the step at Clemson.
5- Texas's Shaka Smart Not leaving Texas for Clemson, no way no how.
