Clemson 3 time national champion?

I like the logic of this SB nation article saying we should claim a 1900 title under Heisman.

Obviously, it's hard to really claim championships from back then unless your Alabama.

Still, interesting idea.

The 1948 Team should be able to claim a title, or at least be considered. They where 11-0, only two teams went undefeated that season, yet Clemson finished #11 in the polls. They finished ahead of North Carolina who was still ranked ahead of them at #3 in the final polls.

We should claim 1900. We won at South Carolina, at Georgia, and at Alabama by an average margin of victory of 40 points. Only gave up 10 points all season. 4 shutouts.

We aren't Notre Dama/Alabama/Michigan/etc. Don't need to claim titles that don't have merit pre 1970s

In those cases, we'd be National Champs in 2015 and 2017 since we entered as #1 seed to playoff.
