He'd be a great pick up. But in all actuality, we don't necessarily HAVE to land him. We are solid at DT for years to come. I'd trade him right now for Mullen and walk away happy.
Never thought I'd be saying this 5 years ago. Too much talent in the trenches. Lol

I agree, but would like to have him nevertheless. It's like drafting the best player available instead of just drafting for need. Also, there is more press and notoriety for Clemson in landing the #1 player.

EVER! He is the #1 player in the U.S. Do we need him? Of course we do. So would anyone else. That's like saying a person couldn't improve their looks. You can always be better. We want to be better. Gary will make anyone better.....but especially......us!

There is no such thing as "Too Much Talent In The Trenches". An unstoppable pass-rush can cover up any weakness in the secondary but an excellent secondary cannot cover up the lack of a good defensive line.

Putting him with a smart, well-spoken, northern kid like Wilkins that plays a similar position with similar measurables and being able to talk to him about the success he has already had as a freshman. Who would have thought that we would have ever gotten Wilkins? And then am now using him to recruit the #1 player?
