Deebo lovers, defend this: 6-12

Dec 1, 2013, 10:14 AM

That's DS's record against Sukolina, FSU, in bowl games, and ACCCGs.

1-5 vs Sukolina (Only win was in 2008)
2-3 vs FSU (routed in last two)
2-3 in bowl games (Don't forget the OB beatdown)
1-1 in ACCCGs (Backed in to the CG in 2011 because the ACC is that bad)

Next season will start a new QB, RB, WR, two OLmen (btw Shatley and Thomas were our best.) Beasley will be gone, and I expect Stephone Anthony to declare as well. No Spencer Shuey or Quandon Christian. No Chandler Cantazaro. Hope you are all ready to get beatdown in Athens, and another second or third place finish in the ACC Atlantic.

Those who defend our insurance salesman of a coach, do so on his ability to beat Wake Forest and NC State. But the history is clear. He has hit his plateau. Thanks for the memories. It's time to move along

I'll take Charlie Strong or Dana Bible. Gimme a coach, not a salesman.

Charlie Strong?

Dec 1, 2013, 10:16 AM

Yeah, let's hire ANOTHER coach that loses to lesser teams. That'll work out well.

Wow!!Someone finally gets it! I would give Dabo another 2 years but demand the OC and DC be gone. They are awful

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The DC is awful??

Dec 1, 2013, 10:22 AM

Have you watched this defense improve over the last two years?

Venables has improved our defense in every statistical and meaningful way,.

The records don't lie

Dec 1, 2013, 10:19 AM

but you're craz-o if you think Charlie Strong or Dana Bible?

Plus, even with our personnel losses we won't be operating with a bare cupboard. We've been recruiting like hell and building serious depth at all levels. Undeniable.

I know pointing out these stats the morning after makes some feel better. I get that. But firing a 10-2 coach is simply not going to happen.

Your scenario for next year is the only hope of dumping Dabo. A 7-5 record in a weak ACC and 6 in a row could possibly do it.

Stanford looses to un-ranked teams and seam to do so every year but everybody loves there coach. Tahj was a good QB not one that can do it on his own Not BIG enough for that and 2 steps slower than Shaw. If Boyd had those 2 steps that would be the difference. In comes Swag Kelley next year taking over We actully upgrade in alot of the areas you talk about. We will be better next year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Most coaches have records like that against ranked teams.

Dec 1, 2013, 10:23 AM

If you're going to focus on the hardest match ups...it's harder to win. Secondly, for the last 30 years we couldn't even get an ACC shot or a BCS game. And we got routed.

Dabo is building the program and what he is accomplishing is fantastic. Last night was players turning the ball over.

Charlie Strong is 3-1 vs UK, and 2-1 in bowl games, and 2 conference titles...at Louisville.

Dec 1, 2013, 10:23 AM

Yes, he's a better coach than Dabo.

Dabo is building a program.

Dec 1, 2013, 10:28 AM

Yeah Dabo needs to get better at holding on to the ball and has got to stop throwing interceptions as well. oh and by the way he should have never been off sides on a 4th and 1 on the 30 with a 17-17 tie. you are right

Glad someone else agrees that the players need to learn how to hold onto the ball. The coaches are on the field playing. Granted I didn't like some of the calls, but that is football. Can't please everyone all of the time. The players need to learn to EXECUTE and DEFEND.
