Ceramincglasstopoven.net repair?

Dec 25, 2018, 8:46 PM

Lucky enough to buy a house with a glass top oven and now it has a crack in it. Anyone know how much it cost to get it someone to replace it and DIY? Thinking about punting the oven and getting a gas line run to the kitchen for a gas oven.

Cheaper to replace than repair.

And if you’re thinking gas...go gas.
Appliances are built to break these days.

Depending on the size of the crack

(doesn’t it always? Lulz)

The major risk is from getting electrocuted because the coils are not grounded/insulated the same as a traditional stove element.

Go gas. I never used a gas stove until this house.

Mrs No grew up cooking on a gas stove, and specified it for this house. It's worked out great.

Yeah no doubt. I have electric glass flat top, because the gas isn't set up in my kitchen. Given the option I would go gas though.

We have propane now, and it can't hold natural gas's jock.

my electric stove that came with the house still works
