Certain people have "genius". Tiger Woods had it. Bill Gates has it. His players have it and he tells them to find it. When they do, figure out how it can contribute to the team "genius". What the....?

He always comes up with these little quotes...

that people really run with. The Kentucky media will be talking about the teams "genius" now.

The man can talk.

when asked at halftime what he planned to tell his guys to make them play better, he replied something like "I'm going to smile at them and ask them to please play better". Now why didn't we ever think of doing that?

he hasn't had any new material since the '90's (and that's very generous, imo).

I heard some of that while I was in the car at lunch

I grew disgusted with Calipari's BS, so I switched over to Tim Brando Show.

He was in a discussion about how college basketball is in a free fall decline BECAUSE shysters like Calipari and his AAU ilk, who manipulate the rules to load up with "one and done" players. Brando (who is a basketball pbp guy) said he runs into people in airports and places on the road who tell him that they have lost all interest in college hoops because of the Kentuckys and Kansases. Fans want to see players who play 3 or 4 years and get to "know" them, not see a brand new "all-star" team every year. He spoke about how things are going to continue to erode until this one-year "loophole" is fixed.

Several callers dialed in saying that what he said was exactly how they felt about the condition of today's game. I have to say that I agree completely - I rarely watch college basketball anymore unless Clemson is playing. I used to watch a game almost every night (esp. ACC game) but I really care little about it anymore when all the great players I watched last year are gone, and I have to learn all-new players every year.

I wish we had some players good enough to go pro
