CU committ Sean Pollard rises @ Rivals Five Star Challenge

Jun 10, 2015, 2:10 PM

Sean Pollard, OL
Southern Pines (N.C.) Pinecrest

Pollard's versatility was on full display. He successfully played multiple offensive line positions. Pollard was very aggressive and used his hands well. Pollard held his own against massive defensive linemen like Kendell Jones.

Was his performance good enough for a fifth star?

Not every good player will get 5-stars

Don't think Pollard is at that elite level where the 5-star players are, but he's still very good.

He won't get a fifth star based on that performance. Apparently he was one of the better offensive lineman there but they currently have him sitting at 192, so a jump into the top 30 would be a massive move. They don't typically make moves that big unless he was absolutely dominant at the event, i.e. not losing more than a rep or two. Those camps are tough for offensive lineman, and it was awesome that he showed out like he did. He made the second team all offense, along with Chase. He should move into the top 100.

On a side note, I'll be curious to see how Chase's ranking changes. He was apparently pretty outstanding there as well, and they released a 10 up, 5 down article today with him at the top of the list of prospects who improved their stock. Either way, great showing from our two commits who were there.

Having said that, I feel that Rivals has a bad habit of always moving Clemson prospects down in the rankings. In their last change, they moved pretty much every one of our commits down. If they aren't committed to an SEC school, they must not be a player I guess.
