Brownell's Bigger Problem

Mar 3, 2013, 11:57 AM

At the sold out UNC game, there were a number of empty seats. And many in the Iptay "fat cat" section.

If the fans quit attending, the coach is usually doomed.

Just ask Tommy West.

pretty much std for CU hoops. Our attendance has been less that stellar for a number of years. I continue to be amazed how we draw in football and can get anyone much to show up to fill a 10K seat arena. Between students and alums the hoops support in pretty lame actually. I dont think even being called out by Roy W after the NC game made any impression on them

In the past, UNC fans purchased any available tickets to this game. That did not happen this year, Littlejohn was maybe at 60% capacity. Does this mean that Roy is in trouble?

It was much more than 60 percent, but a far cry than what "sold out" should look like.

I love Clemson everything and have a son-in-law who graduated from Univ of Miami. Have you guys seen home games for Miami? and I've been to 5 games at Miami. Miami's Football home attendance is embarrassing for my son. It is with all Miami's history in Football.

when BB gets time to put a better product on the floor that does not constantly lose close game to inferior teams the fans will come! This team should have beat Miami, NCSU and FSU twice!!win the games we should win and LJ will be full

That is a 'crying shame' that the "fat cat" IPTAY dudes aren't getting themselves (or Clemson fans) in their seats.
Did you see the vacant seats at VT last evening? About 1/2 full; maybe slightly above that. Fans like winners and for Clemson to have a full house they need 3 to 4 thousand from the student body and brave fans from Anderson/Seneca/Greenvile and surrounds.

Apathy can take down a coach quicker than anything

Mar 3, 2013, 2:18 PM

West saw this...so did Hatfield...if the fans quit coming and they turn away with their wallets the coach is doomed.
