Really hate it for the guy, but let’s be honest: the kid keeps doing this to himself. When he’s on, and he’s cruising along, his stuff is actually really good...especially that slider he’s got that serves as a great put-away pitch. However, as anyone who’s watched Brooks pitch the past few years can tell you, for whatever reason this kid simply cannot handle pressure or calls not going his way. Every time those thing since happen, almost like clockwork he will unravel, start walking batters, and lose all the momentum he had within an inning. I’m thinking that if this continues he needs to become strictly a bullpen guy- because I just really don’t think he has proven he can handle a starter’s workload. I do hope he turns it around, though!
