The talent on this years team 1-5

Will be significantly better than last years team. We're going to actually have some good depth at pretty much every position.

Should be impressive in the front court

And I'm now pretty optimistic about the guards, too. Much more talent than we've had there in a while.

Clemson will have 2 legit options at point guard

I'm really only concerned about the 2 guard spot. If Devoe can step up and win the job I will be happy. I don't have faith in Roper to be anything more than an inconsistent guy off the bench.

Anyone with any type of basketball knowledge KNOWS that Brad is doing a great job here, hence the acknowledgement from the AD last year.
Those who are hating simply refuse to acknowledge how bad OP left us- both long term roster wise and recruiting wise ( which also has long term implications). Brad had a 1 year roster when he got here. He made the most of it. Past that, I he has had to re-establish recruiting ties that had been ignored by OP and staff for 2 years. OP'S ignorance of those ties cost us essentially 3 recruiting classes.
I honestly hope his #### falls off.

Great?

4 years of no NCAA Tournament is not great. Missing the NIT 3 of those years is not great.
I'm sure people can make the argument he is building, but we returned 4 starters from a team that won a couple of NIT games and could not make the postseason. He has not gone anything great here.

I'm guessing you didn't read the part about missing 3 recruiting cycles and long term effects?
Again, if you don't understand this process then you have no clue. Fighting with both arms tied behind his back.
Think before you speak. It does help

He missed one and a half really - and some of that is on Brownell.
OP had Marcus Thornton, GA Mr. Basketball, signed to Clemosn. That year we had 2 openings. OP decided to take 1 and go for 3 the next year. Brownell could not keep him thus causing an empty class. Thornton ended up being a good player for UGA once he committed himself to being good. If we are to believe Winecki is a great coach, then he would have worked wonders with him.
That second class had 5 guys, so the empty class narrative ends there.
The recruiting issues still does not defend how Brownell has 11 losses to mid major programs and a losing record to USC. There is no talent gap at that level.

Clueless. Thornton was the 1 player OP recruited his last 1.5 years. 1. And the kid had no ties to Clemson so he left, just as 90% of kids do when I coach leaves. The kid we got today never went to wake cause Bzydillic got fired. Tarrant left Bama cause his coach got canned. You can't put Thornton on Brownell. Did Gilmore, Holloman, and Loston not come to Clemson because Dabo got the job or because Tommy left? I hesitate to say it was because we hired Dabo.......and those kids were familiar with Dabo. Thornton had not a clue who BB was.
And just because BB brought in 5 kids in a class doesn't mean recruiting is ok. It means we had to have 5 bodies or we wouldn't have enough to play. He has signed and culled (yes - most of them leaving was by design...Filer and Sapp being the exceptions but they were simply listening to the wrong people) to a point where our roster finally looks ready for conference play. Let's not forget his winning record in conference in spite of the depleted roster.

Both would be middle to upper tier ACC hoops programs year in and year out.

He hasn't done the best job ever and we need to get better soon. Anybody with any basketball knowledge knows that Clemson can do better in basketball even if it is a difficult job-Brad has a lot to prove imo.

I, like everyone else, hope these guys live up to they're HS rankings but results at the ACC level of competition are what matters. Kind of hard to get excited yet about a JUCO player that played a total of 80 minutes this season, yet still managed 30 turnovers.

I was pretty pleased last year to be in NY with our team. I'm pretty pleased with the direction our recruiting has been going. I was pretty pleased when I went to Dayton and cheered our Tigers on to a NCAA tournament win. I'm pretty pleased that Brad has such a good ACC win %. That makes me one of the supporters who wants to bring our program up. Go Tigers!
