Did anyone happen to catch him on 107.5 the game yesterday? I was enjoying listening to the lamentations of our foul feathered rivals when he came on with his take on the 56-7 destruction of his pet birds. His take is that Clemson takes football more seriously because it is an ag school in a rural area and we need football to feel good about ourselves? What a load of pretentious bull$hit. We win more because we have consistently been able to have better coaching and better players, it has nothing to do with how we feel about ourselves or the location of the school. We have suffered through some less than stellar seasons but it has always been about Clemson. The problem with uscjr is they never have had anything to sell. First it was the SEC, not uscjr, then it was come play for Lou Holtz, not uscjr, then it was come play for Spurrier and now we have come play in the SEC again for a coach that failed at Florida with top 10 classes. Playing for the gamecocks has never been good enough in and of itself. Until they can sell uscjr and not a coach or a league they will be doomed to a history of football mediocrity, regardless of what happens in Clemson.

The idea that Columbia, SC is somehow cosmopolitan or elite

is something that is difficult to understand. Clearly it is neither.
Columbia is simply the centrally located capital city of a small southeastern state, out shined by both Charleston and Greenville, which are better known and more highly desirable places to live.
Clemson has never tried to be Charleston or Greenville, and therefore certainly has no envy of Columbia whatsoever.
Clemson is unique ... for what it is, as well as what it is not.

Envy is the product of inferior mentality. Rather than being capable of making a statement that resembles some degree of maturity, a person resorts to name calling and indulging in derogatory comments re a person. place or thing in an attempt to make them appear on the same or lower level than that of the accuser.

Especially since a good portion of Columbia now resembles a ghost town...

Don't know where these coots come up with this ish? I always say that to coot fans who bring up about Clemson being in the middle of nowhere. I always ask them what's so special about Columbia, and they can never say a thing

Simply put Clemson is just a beautiful place in SC, Im from upstate NY and that area of South Carolina reminds me of home, the foothills and mtns, I love the landscape. For the life of me I cant understand why there are so many vocal haters of South Carolina in general when it comes to respecting the product we put on the field. That Colin Cowerd guy is off his meds man, Clemson is by no means a fraud, that was the most illogical rant ive ever heard from him. That loss to Pitt looking back has made this Tiger team much more focused.

Sapakoff is a big time SEC homer that works for the Post and Courier, a 100% coot newspaper. I read it every morning. Yesterday, the headlines on the front page was about coot women's basketball. Not the front page of the sports section but front page of the front section.

What kind of person needs SPORTS to feel good about themself ? I suppose in the mind of Sapakoot that makes sense somehow , forgetting (or most likely never learning ) that happiness comes from within ...not some chosen stimuli from outside of ones own mind . If the Coots don't feel good about themselves it isn't because they follow that 117 year old train wreck of a football program , it is otherwise . I wish them luck in the cosmic coot journey they have chosen .

Amherst, Bowdoin, Bucknell, etc. all rely on football and clearly take a back seat to SoCar in academic prestige. Haha.
Clemson is a far superior school with a far superior football team. Deal with it Gene.

That is fantastic. The first step to fixing a problem is to

recognize the problem. As long as they are in denial about why Clemson is superior to them, they have no hope to try to catch up. (It's a lost cause anyhow.) Whistling past the graveyard of coaches continues.

What an idiot. We aren't an "ag school" anymore.

We were founded as one, but agriculture has not been a significant part of Clemson University in the last 20+ years. Plus, what was once a rural area is now considered suburban with the growth of Greenville. We have no inferiority complex to anyone, and certainly not South Carolina. We have one of the best public schools in the country, and also outstanding athletics (football and soccer, to name a few).
Academically, the University of South Carolina will, at best, always be the University of Second Choice.
Athletically, they care just as much as we do about football, if not more so. They just aren't very good at it.
