Cruelz/Greenr...did some more thinking about the FIFA

May 28, 2015, 9:58 AM

arrest/DOJ inquiry...I'm putting my tinfoil hat on here, but it seems like there is a LOT more going on than just simply trying to clean up FIFA corruption.

Loretta Lynch got appointed to run this probe and then soon gets promoted to Attorney General and supposedly has unlimited resources to work with on this investigation...ESPN runs their big expose of Blatter a few weeks before the arrests and before the vote for Blatter's relection...the man who is running against Blatter is the Prince of Jordan, a country that is probably America's biggest ally in the Middle East besides Israel.

Why is the US exhausting so many resources on this? Is it just to get revenge with Putin and cast a cloud over their 2018 World Cup? Or is this have more to do with Qatar and the US is trying to shake something up over there? Why does it appear that the US is going after Nike in this?

Or do I not want the know truth because deep down in places I don't talk about at parties I know this is necessary?

Haven't read in-depth, but I think the US is involved bc

May 28, 2015, 10:01 AM

a lot of the money in question passed through US banks, there were some Americans involved, and CONCACAF is a big part of the investigation. CONCACAF includes the US and I think is HQd in FL.

^^I agree with this

May 28, 2015, 10:03 AM

And they are probably also motivated by the possibility of the 2022 World Cup.

Please forgive me, @IneligibleUser

But isn't this less likely to get them the Cup?

May 28, 2015, 10:08 AM

I don't really see the US ever getting another cup again after this, unless they think they are getting all of the UEFA votes. And is getting the cup really that important? How much money are we talking here? It was a huge money loser for Brazil, granted they had to build all of those stadiums.

Or are they doing this so they can shake down Nike with a large "settlement"?

if Blatter is there, you are right***

Hmm, maybe you are right...if Blatter loses this vote

May 28, 2015, 10:11 AM

the Jordanian prince is in and he is our ally.

I love a good conspiracy

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

conspiracy with bacon is really the best way to enjoy it

May 28, 2015, 10:16 AM

too many vegan conspiracies out there. You just cannot enjoy them

Blatter isn't losing the vote***

We already have all the infrastructure available

May 28, 2015, 10:22 AM [ in reply to But isn't this less likely to get them the Cup? ]

to host the World Cup. So we would rake the money in. Also, we don't have a civil uprising about transportation and feeding the hungry like Brazil had.

1994 world cup in the US was the most profitable one

May 28, 2015, 10:27 AM [ in reply to But isn't this less likely to get them the Cup? ]

And most attended. Overall one of the if not the most successful world cups ever. The only reason it probably hasn't been back is because of the bribes

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I gotta be honest....

May 28, 2015, 10:03 AM

I HAVE NOT THOUGHT ABOUT THIS AT ALL, AND THAT PROBABLY WON'T CHANGE TODAY, TOMORROW, OR ANYTIME IN THE NEAR, OR FAR FUTURE.

why now after all these years***

BECAUSE IT'S THE BEST POLICY.

May 28, 2015, 10:18 AM

Today, anyway.

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Honesty is NOT the best policy, bacon is, in fact

May 28, 2015, 10:20 AM

Honesty is the third best policy, behind bacon, and then insurance

I'm going to let you have this one.

May 28, 2015, 10:27 AM

That was a fairly persuasive argument.

Bill Clinton was heavily involved in the US bid for 2022

May 28, 2015, 10:29 AM

When Qatar won the world cup he was so angry he broke a mirror in a hotel room. I have a feeling the Clintons are behind a lot of this.
