Before attacking someone's educational background

(degree work and where s/he went to school), IQ, or character because they misused a word, misspelled a word, or made a grammatical mistake in sentence structure (verb/subject agreement, or the like), please ask yourself why you feel it necessary to point out the mistakes and short-comings of others? After all, this is a message board--certainly not for publication! Message boards are casual. If someone uses your for you're or deer for dear, why bother except that it makes you feel superior and better about yourself? Maybe a little FPD? If the later is true, a good counselor probably could and would help--at a small fee of course.
Can really tell it is down time after football!

While I agree with you I still think that a person who 'claims' to be educated should make every effort to portray themselves as such. Especially in the written word. Even a message board (bored) can be a wonderful tool to help someone become even more efficient.

I agree with both of you. In many cases, I think keyboarding skills result in many errors.

No, I think he is talking about me. My comments are always in jest though as I make the same errors (quite often through typos - never been too good at fine-motor skills). And I can't quite resist taking a shot at an institution with a higher academic reputation than I aspired to attend (or qualified for, maybe).

I think special, but not particularly elite. My father is an alumnus. My mother went to Winthrop because she could not get into Converse, lol. Just kidding
Is Converse elite as well ?

mistake. It's no big deal but I think everyone should try to represent themselves well in any public setting. If outside of Tigernet you put Shakespeare to shame, then just disregard it.
I wrote a note today on Tigernet that was LOADED with mistakes. It happens. I wouldn't get upset if someone pointed it out.

my Cousin Ferd...from the hoots 'n hollers of ole West Virginny. He thinks he's an educated man 'cause he graduated from the third grade...and never saw a book that he didn't burn or use the pages from to wipe his "educated" katoosh. Why the last letter I received from him read:
Deeer Kuzzin I hant got no muney How bout sen me sum This har job dawn pay me enuf and hailfar I bees dun finist the thard grade Theysa buncha chipskates Yar Kuzzin Ferd
Ordinarily, most people would consider him one stupid sonuvab!tch, but I have great pity upon a man who took it upon himself to graduate from the third grade. Thus, I consider it quite an honor to be able to peruse TNet...poor, mediocre, good or indifferent English and all! lol
