Chad and upcoming job openings

Oct 30, 2012, 11:38 AM

Success means losing assistants, that is the downside of winning. In light of this, Chad will get consideration at numerous programs. There are a lot of head coaching jobs potentially coming available that would be in Morris's region of familiarity. Anybody think he gets an offer from any of these schools? I don't think he would turn down any of these jobs.

Auburn?, Arky?, Tennessee?, Kentucky?, Colorado?, Louisville (should Strong leave)?, Southern Miss (Johnson may not be given another year)?, UTEP?, Rice?

Haven't heard his name mentioned for any openings but

I have heard that Auburn is looking at Petrino and Kentucky may be looking at Turbeville or Strong FWIW.

UTEP and Rice?

You don't think he would turn down THOSE jobs?

Nothing to see here, folks.

I have a feeling we've got at least a few more years of The Chad to look forward to.

Tenn should hire Cutcliff since he was there for so many

NO. I believe he's waiting on Texas. Brown isn't producing.***

I don't think Texas will go the assistant route. They will do what Alabama did when Saban was hired and pay whatever it takes to get the proven head coach they want.

If Morris wants to eventually get the Texas job then he is likely going to have to pay his dues as a head coach somewhere else, which is exactly why all of the jobs mentioned above (including UTEP and Rice) make sense.

With his current salary, he can cherry pick

Oct 30, 2012, 11:46 AM

He doesn't need to take a "Kentucky" type job. I think Arky would be enticing because it is a place that he can win at and is very, very close to he old stomping grounds

He'd turn down all of the above except possibly Auburn and Tennessee.

He's not leaving after this season. Promised his daughter she could graduate HS here. I think he'll be at Clemson for several years. He's the highest paid coordinator in football. Not exactly a bad gig

You hope he does...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I actually think he'll hang around for another year

Oct 30, 2012, 1:19 PM

to see what happens in TBs last season.

Tennessee is the only job big enough to make him leave - but I think they'll want someone with HC experience.
