I have a 2 year old Samsung and it has 7 white spots on it now. It gets worse gradually. Any of you ever experience this and what did you do?

go to the website and find out how to reset it. I had a SONY that did that. Honestly, I don't remember what they called the process but it seemed like a reset to me. The TV was still kicking fine when I gave it to a son for his bedroom.

Which reply? With one, you just wipe the screen with a damp

I'm 1-for-3 on Samsung TVs so far, won't be buying again

first one (42" 720p plasma bought on super sale in '08 for +/-$900, lol) had vertical (reddish) striped going down the left 25% of the screen after a couple years, and then numerous blown pixels (not a technical term) throughout it.
That's the only one I paid for, at least
2nd one was a 37" Samsung LCD hand-me-down from BiL, rarely used...when we moved, and I set it up (in the now dead basement) it wouldn't fully turn on....tried a few times until it let out a 'magician's entrance' plume of smoke out of the top. I quickly brought it outside, let it sit for a few to make sure it wasn't on fire....then plugged it in w/ an extension cord, and voila, it worked. Chalked it up to a build-up of dust inside or something that burnt off....worked fine for months, until it did the same thing again...this time I was prepared after it didn't fully turn on the first couple times....
decided to throw it away after that
3rd one (also hand-me-down from inlaws) is relegated to the garage. So far, no problems.
I've had (3) very cheap JVC's that have worked impressively well, and (2) cheap Vizios that have pretty well.

I’ve had four now, and I think I’ll be going with a different brand next.

It’s mostly a problem with the smart features and possibly coupled with something in my Onkyo receiver. Seems like a bug or something. Don’t have my receivers hooked up right now, but will connect everything back up when we move. Gonna mess around with it then. The one with the problem has been working much better when not connected to the receiver, at least regarding the smart features. Now sometimes the volume just decided a it doesn’t want to change. Weird.

This was like ten years ago. The problem was so pervasive they ended up fixing it for free. Something to do with the color wheel.

The tech came out so many times we became friends lol. Finally his boss told him to refund all money and we aren't coming back out.
The LG I've had since then has been very good. (knock on wood)
Screw Samsung TV's.
