USC lineman Na'Ty Rodgers arrested in late-night incident

By JOSH KENDALL

Columbia - The StateMarch 23, 2014 Updated 20 minutes ago

South Carolina redshirt freshman offensive lineman Na’Ty Rodgers was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Officers responded to a civil disturbance at 800 Harden Street after Rodgers was allegedly acting in a loud and boisterous manner, according to information provided by the police. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol when speaking to Rodgers, and he was cooperative with police, the department reported.

His arrest triggers an automatic indefinite suspension under South Carolina’s athletics department policy.

Rodgers entered spring competing for playing time at right guard. The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder from Waldorf, Md., was a four-star prospect when he signed with the Gamecocks in 2013

What exactly is an "Indefinite Suspension", anyway?????

Make that this question:

Mar 23, 2014, 6:15 PM

What is an "Automatic Indefinite Suspension" for $2,000?

Former Columbia Police Chief Santiago isn't there to….

Mar 23, 2014, 5:36 PM

cover up for the coots. Funny how when he become police chief coots getting arrested stopped. Not even 2 weeks after he is removed, a coot football player gets arrested.

Re: Former Columbia Police Chief Santiago isn't there to….

There's a legitimate reason that the Columbia PD is the laughing stock of bureaucracy in a state where there's a lot of finger-pointing to go around.

If it's not covering up for Coot football players, it's protecting known gang members and refusing to protect students from thugs in Five Points.

What a beautiful capital we have.

..in a list of a couple hundred black eyes during Ball Sack's career. Obviously teaching kids responsibility and accountability isn't one of his strongsuits. No biggie for the kid though, he still has 4 strikes left.

By the way, everyone knows you love c0cks. Knowing you have a plethora of handles, why do you not have ANY representing your c0cks? And why do you continue with the same poser handles long after you've been busted? Are you embarrassed or just have the mental capacity of a chimp?

"automatic indefinite suspension"

Mar 23, 2014, 11:10 PM

...is a friggin' oxyMORON.

Yet the sakerlina fans fall for this sham, believing they actually have some discipline in the program.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Spurrier : Just act normally

Mar 24, 2014, 5:46 AM

Why would anyone expect any kind of accountability out of the head coach ? He runs a program that sidesteps ncaa rules and is currently serving a slap on the wrist probation for impermissable benefits , convinced the BOD at $ ackerlina that academics should be secondary when getting his "type of players" into their fine institution and has consistently and repeatedly allowed brutish and irresponsible behavior from his players.
Automatic Indefinitely stupid ....best describes the entire lot of 'em.
