when he missed the game against us down there in 2014. Somebody interviewed a Vegas handicapper when Jameis was supposedly going to miss the first half of that game and they said they valued his absence at around 7 pts for a full game so they moved the line 3.5 pts to account for him being suspended for the 1st half. Of course we found out around kickoff he was going to miss the entire game.
And, FWIW, a TD per game over the course of an entire season is a pretty big deal. If you look at FPI or SP+ they rate Clemson at around ~28 pts better than an average FBS team. If you drop us down to +21 we are somewhere in the middle of the 2nd tier of teams that includes Georgia, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Penn St, etc. Good programs, but not title contenders.

Wonderful to realize we're so well put together that a "slip" in status that drops a touchdown from the spread still has us winning by more than 3 TDs .
