Advice on bringing kids to the Carolina game/drinking

Nov 17, 2015, 8:30 AM

NOW I know it's a running joke on here to talk about dont take your kids to Columbia and stuff but this year my boys turn 8 and 18 and I think it be good time to show them the rivalry for the first time.

Probably not smart to ask with some of the holier-than-thou folks that tend to chime in about things, but also another question. What does Clemson think about 18 year olds being able to drink at tailgates? My son serves in the Air Force and while on leave was hoping he'd be able to share a beer with his dad at either the tailgate or maybe even in the stadium.

If other kids are gone be around I understand but was wondering what my options were and how I make sure that Columbia's good for me and my boys,.

If he can put his life on the line for his country

He can enjoy a beer for said country (my philosophy).

That being said, put a doozie or pour it in a red solo cup.

You don't need to be worried about folks possibly judging, but more the police coming through.

Have a great Saturday and thank you for your son's service.

I believe legally you can offer your kids alcohol

Nov 17, 2015, 8:41 AM

Under your supervision. You just can't offer it to any one else's kid.

I've been giving my kids peppermint snaps since they were 3 to shut them up.

own home. In public, 21 is the rule.

In Clemson most of the cops DGAF. I remember crossing the street by Bowman with a case of Busch light when I was 18 on gameday. The handle ripped right in front of the 2 cops directing traffic and beer cans rolled all over 93. One of them came over and helped me repack the case and sent me on my way. I've heard they're a little more hard-nosed in Columbia, however.

get you kids really drunk that way

Nov 17, 2015, 8:41 AM

they'll fit in. If they are under 12, they probably shouldn't drink though.

don't get your kid in trouble

Nov 17, 2015, 8:41 AM

The Air Force probably would not appreciate it. Do shots. They are quicker and harder to get caught
