Are you a fan of Don Munson's new phrase

"Hello #(fill in the blank)" when someone off the bench makes a big play? I think the idea is to emphasize our depth and that we as quality players and talent throughout. I know he has said it for Chase Brice, Xavier Thomas, Lyn-J Dixon and probably some others.

I'm more a fan of getting my game info from other venues. I was listening to the UNC CU 1981 game the other day. I was reminded after hearing Jim why I dont bother with radio anymore.

I am not a fan of anything Don Munson says. If best is the standard then he is somehow allowed to continue with that nasally voice. And while I’m being opinionated, Rodney needs to be put to pasture, he was done adding “color” to the broadcast years ago.

He's also overusing "that's a great find" for assists. Any of these phrases are okay...its just the repetition that gets old.
Except when its Todd Ellis saying, "Touchdown Clemson."

Don who?

In the way back I listened to hundreds of games called by Jim Phillips. I read lots of newspaper columns and articles by Ken Burger, Herman Helms, Dan Foster, Bob Quincy and so forth. These days, the Clemson radio broadcast and local sports writers are much less important to me.
I go to many football games, home and away. I think every Clemson game that I have not attended in person has been broadcast on TV for many years. Most of the time I listen to the pregame talk on TV. I sometimes listen to the local post-game broadcasts, but that's about it.
So I don't know how Munson calls the games and I didn't care much about Yannity or the switch to Munson whenever it was when it happened. Munson has a new phrase? Who knew?
Based on the number of radio stations that carry Munson, it looks to me like his market is much much smaller than the audience who listened to Jim Phillips on 100+ radio stations in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

One major reason the radio network is a lot smaller........

than it used to be is virtually all of our games are on TV now. You don't have to listen to radio like in the old days so the listening audience is smaller.

Yanity was a very good replacement. From there, things have gone downhil!
I liked Eppley in the booth a lot also and Bourret is always welcome in any broadcast booth.
I listen to the games in the Valley but the crowd noise sometimes doesn’t permit that. And that’s a good thing!

It would be better if we recruited someone named "Newman".
