What was our record vs Coots while you were at Clemson (max 5 games)?
2-1-1 for me; last one was 45-0 at Willy

actually 4-1. I knew what I was doing my freshman year by living the motto " mom and dad are not here and we can drink beer!". So I was taking 9 hours in the fall of 81 to finish up. Me and a buddy moved back on campus into Cope right above the Valley! Had the best fall of our lives right in the middle of Tiger Football history!

Perhaps a few recent grads...and you are an alumnus in my book, although it’s never too late. My best buddy started in 85 and finished in 2003. Another guy I know says he failed freshman English 7 times!

Is the friend who flunked English 7 times a poster "hear" on this "bored"? And is he the one who said we would never "loose" a game next year? He should have "payed" more attention in class.

I’m a bit embarrassed, but actually this definition works better for my question. Wasn’t trying to be exclusive, so whether or not someone was a graduate was not important. Just wanted to see records for the snapshot in time when people were students.

Undergrad was 4-1 (on the 4.5 year plan, graduated in December 81 and went to the Orange Bowl). Spent the spring and summer of 1982 spending all my money and then some. Returned the fall of 1982 for grad school. Picked up a couple more wins.

What a great question!
Started 1981(win), dropped out after fall semester of 1982(win). Re-enrolled 1987 (ugh!), attended 1988 (win) & 1989 (win) and graduated may 1990. So 4-1
Go Tigers!!!

Before you make fun of the number of football seasons I was there, note that I was a co-op student and went to grad school, so I had a few extra falls. I was at Clemson '85 - December '92. I defended my thesis at the end of the summer of '92, but it was too late to graduate in the summer, so technically I was a student in the fall of 92. We were 5-2-1 in my time there.
I used to pull for the Chickens against the "big boys" until that loss in 1987. The players talked s!@t. Never have I pulled for them since. I have a post in the hall of fame about it. Take a look if you ever find yourself on the moral slippery slope. Looking back, it has been many a glorious year since.

All I can remember is that Frank Howard was the coach, and the plays were always, (Buddy) Gore to the left, Gore to the right, Gore up the middle, Punt. I should have gone into coaching at that point and skipped college. (JUST KIDDING).

Well for a person who was in and out of Clemson, I was 4-3. So I was not a very good student until I came back in 1997 after the Shipyard closed. Surprising what having a wife and two kids will do for your focus. I was not smarter, just more experienced.

4-1. The one loss was the 1984 game that we should have won. ??

I honestly don't remember. On the other hand, when I showed up at Clemson I didn't even know the Coots were our rival. I didn't know much about Clemson when school started. I moved from California to Clemson. I was on waiting list at Clemson and assumed I was going to Bama. Clemson informed my Mom a week before classes started that I could attend, so I switched to Clemson sight unseen. My neighbors growing up were Clemson fans. They were originally from Union but ended up in California. That's how I found our about Clemson.

I'm from the Santa Barbara area but my last two years of HS were in Spartanburg. I also applied for Clemson sight unseen...first time I saw Clemson was after I was offered and showed up for orientation about a month before classes started. So, I had more of a break-in period than you.

Started in 2010, graduated in 2014. Seeing the roll we are on now makes it that much worse!

L-W-L-W-W.
My son had the bad luck to be enrolled during the stinking 5-peat. He savors our triumphs even more, though.

And now, for some ancient history.....

1972 Won 7-6 Record 4-7 Hootie Ingram resigns! Thank Gawd, no more Hootin' for Hootie! 1973 Lost 32-20 Record 5-6 Red Parker, First season 1974 Won 39-21 Record 7-4 Red Parker, Think things are looking up? Gotcha! 1975 Lost 56-20 Record 2-9 Red Parker, One of, if not the worst seasons in our history.
So, 2-2 vs the Coots, but nowhere close to 0.500 otherwise.
So, To quote the commercial, "Not too goooood!"
But, at least I wasn't there for their 5-bomb, that must have been awful as a student.
I shore am enjoying the current trend, though!

I was a co-op student, too, and went to grad school for two years (89-96, was at co-op job in 1991 hence only 7 seasons). First was the 45-0 thrashing we gave them my freshman year, then we beat them in Death Valley the next year, and after that, the visiting team won every game thereafter while I was there (1992, 1994, 1996 USuC won, 1991, 1993, 1995 Clemson won).

My senior year (1977), I went to the Carolina game in Columbia and personally witnessed "the catch"! Jerry Butler caught the ball in the endzone to come from behind and beat the gamecocks 31-27! We all left the stadium and went across tot the Tally Ho bar and drank all night! What a great time!
