I was thinking it was 50/50 on us going to Big XII...

...But with Dabo coming out that much in support of the ACC, I just cant see him voicing such an opinion if moving to the Big XII was still a possibility. Unless he has been kept in the dark but this seems to be a hit to those of us who thought it possible. You would think he would have heard something if it were possible and would not be talking like this. So if that is the case, we have to pray we somehow get ND and that somehow improves the TV revenue deal and gets us in the NC formula. Sigh.

TV numbers are 13 million, not total revenue from the ACC.

Don't forget that the conference pays a lot of the expenses for the teams. Something that the other conferences may not do. That adds up quickly.

But the conference keeps ALL the revenue from the bowls

I am sure Clemson and FSU would much rather have our bowl money and pay our own expenses.
The current ACC financial sharing process primarily benefits the private schools of Duke and WF that get an equal share of the money but spend much less. The rich keep getting richer.

It divides bowl money equally between all member teams. I do believe they keep a portion for themselves, but to my knowledge it isn't a huge chunk.
I can't stand the way the ACC is being run, but I don't think they're screwing us over quite that much (still screwing us over though).

I feel like the BOT might be kinda ticked at Dabo for saying so much, might kind of limit their options.

Meanwhile, the Big 12 has announced distributions of approximately $19 million per school. But those monies include more than $24 million in exit fees from Missouri and Texas A&M, both of which left the Big 12 for the SEC. Take away the exit fees, and Big 12 and ACC revenue is essentially equal.

Big 12 is about to jump BIG

New Fox deal kicks in next year. So they lose 1.5 to 2m per school from exit fees but more than make up for it with the Fox deal- they actually exceed it.
Old Fox deal- 1.6m per school New one- 9m per school.
That will take care of a 1-2m bump pretty easily.
The ESPN deal is the one currently with an extension being negotiated.

FWIW when VT joined to the ACC, our AD was making public comments in support of the big least literally a week before we left, and my understanding is that the move was a surprise to him when it happened. Since it's the board and/or president who make the decision, it's certainly possible that the head coach (or even the AD, as in our case) are in the dark. Not saying that's the case here, since I have no idea, just that it's possible...
