Winning one game does not mean you could win the conference.

They would have won it the previous two years easily.
I have not seen a team that would have beat them. Certainly not us

See my post from above. Winning ONE ACC game does not mean you can win the conference.

I think Florida State is too athletic for South Carolina. They manhandled South Carolina a couple of years ago. In fact, Fisher had to "call off the dogs" late in the fourth quarter. I think South Carolina would have trouble with Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Miami,Virginia, and probably North Carolina State. Most of those teams in the SEC are overrated including South Carolina.

"Manhandled"? SC was moving up and down the field until Latti got hurt. Even without Latti, the game was not exactly a blowout. Last year, SC would have destroyed FSU, especially if Trickett was playing QB like when Clemson played them.
SC would have been the favorite to win the ACC last year. Could they have slipped up? Of course, but it would be much less likely than losing a game against someone from the SEC.
This year, SC would be picked 2nd in the ACC. It would all come down to the FSU game.
For those of you saying Clemson won't be down for long and things will get back to normal, the reality is that Clemson is not down. They just won their first conference championship in 20+ years. They are actually up, they just aren't as good as SC and they won't be until they can recruit better on the o-line, become more physical and figure out a way to out coach Spurrier.

And last year they also lost to Auburn, so by that logic, Auburn could have won the ACC because they beat SCAR who...oh wait...

A short term advantage. Enjoy it while it lasts coot. Spurrier will tire of Columbia( sh!thole of SC) or even quit because he will never compete with the likes of Alabama, Auburn, LSU or even UGA. He seems to be good at leaving when things don't go his way. Enjoy our downtime. It won't last long and we will get back to ruling this relationship soon. I do want you to do well because it really is not fun to dominate a rival that blows. Now go back to your own crappy site and stop lurking around!

they couldn't have possibly won the ACC last year and in fact they didn't and haven't since 1969. They haven't won any other conference championship since then either.

If gamecocks were in acc they might win it every 10-15 years at best. they would not have the players that they do now have if they were in the acc. it's far from a given even with those players they would have won the conference the last 3 years-with their "best team/ teams ever" it's not even a serious thought. ; ) jmo

Their fans give up on winning SEC and try to look elsewhere?

Pathetic. That'll happen when you can't even beat the 4th place SEC west team last year and ask that cross division games only count as half a point. Man, I hate suckcocks.

Sure they can. They have one title in what 100+ years? The way they manhandled FSU also would lead you to believe they can win our confersnce....what say you? FSU beat the mighty SEC #####? No way! Dumbest breed on the planet.
