Electric was $167. Gas was $248 (January)

Eff ewe SCE&G. We have gas hot water, and gas heat downstairs. That's it. Electric heat upstairs. My highest combined bills come in the winter now because of SCE&G's gas. A good cold month will be around $400 total. During the hottest days of summer the total bill is never over $300 (thanks mid-carolina electric). SCE&G is making $$$$ hand over fist on their gas charges to compensate for other stuff. We have a surplus of gas, and it's dirt cheap for SCE&G to buy, but they're marking it up higher than electricity to pay off their stupidity.

What is even more interesting, my electric co-op buys their electricity from SCE&G. They charge over 1/3 less than SCE&G to give me SCE&G's electricity. Go figure.
