I still say a vote to not convict Trump will be tough

for many Senators after all the regurgitating of this story, with the long thread of Trump setting up the event, and the horrific video details. If the vote was anonymous, or not connected to a significant percentage of their voters, it would be a pretty easy vote to convict.
There could be a rona outbreak on the day to vote.

remaining Republicans will be treated just like anyone else in Trump's way. He plans to run again in 2024.
The only hope the remaining Republicans have is for Trump to be convicted of criminal charges, which is very likely from at least three to five federal cases.

want to go on record saying so. That's kinda what I was saying. Many, not all, Pubs don't want to go on record with a vote on this, yes or no.

They'll double down on their lies and conspiracies as their numbers shrink. I don't see that changing for at least the next 1 or 2 election cycles.

I think ultimately the GOP just wants to move to a vote to bar Trump from running again.

For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone with a brain would vote for Trump.

While the constitutional objection has been voted down twice now for this process, and nine times prior this body put those legal eagles who ultimately decide that in their seats, many will continue to use that as cover come Hades or high water.
I mean, think how tough it must be to get screamed at by some crazy chick in an airport. Scared scrate.

Your lack of reading comprehension makes it difficult to have discussions with you on here.
When I first pushed this out I clearly stated that the SCOTUS would be utilized in an appeal, which a Trump would certainly push considering the 3500 + lawsuits he's been involved with during his career - it's part of his operating strategy. You completely missed that and have been in this nonsensical realm about the role of the SCOTUS since.
What you are failing to grasp here also is that the constitutional question is again moot, as the Senate has twice now in just this one instance voted to move ahead. They've done their jobs already. Any further questions on constitutionality now belong in the hands of the SCOTUS down the road.
The senate passes bills all the time without broad consent or support, but guess what, the bills become laws regardless and everyone has to adhere to them whether you voted for it or not. That's how it works, and that's how it should work here. And guess what, you can challenge constitutionality by filing lawsuits in courts and hoping that goes your way.
I can't simplify this any more for you. Please don't embarrass yourself by doubling down on this asinine position anymore.
