Question. Why do Clemson fans thing the USC/CU game will be a cakewalk for them?
I just don't get it. Who have you played this year? You best opponent (by far) this year was FSU. And you did not do well against them.
This is what i see out of the CU's 8 wins.
***Only 3 teams you beat have a winning record, Ball State (6-3), Wake (5-4) & Duke (6-4)
***The combined W/L records of the teams you have beat is 32-41
***No wins this year against a top 30 team.
So it is great that Clemson is 8-1. But don't let that record go to your head. You have (and i am sure you would admit it) won against inferior opponents.
I am not saying that carolina will win but i don't think it is going to be a cake walk for clemson. Learn humility.

I don't buy that for a second.
But as to your question I'd guess the answer is simple fandom. I'm in the 'it'll be a dogfight' camp. I can see any outcome as possible, winning big, winning tight, losing tight, or losing big. I honestly don't have a clue how it'll go.
But to ask fans not to, on their own message board, articulate an optimistic belief is absurd.

USC had done NOTHING to further college football until you became total hypocrites by hiring Spurrier, whom you loathed and villified when he was at Florida.
Now, you've been blown out in the conference championship game by more than CU was blown out in the Orange Bowl, you've given yourselves rings for winning 11 games in a 12 game regular season, and you've beaten us three in a row when we have a first time head coach. And Carolina fans seem to think the history of mankind needs to be rewritten as the evolution of Carolina's ascendance to football elite.

I don't think anyone is going to destroy anyone. Clemson has an offense that SCAR hasn't seen this year. SCAR has a physical defense that Clemson hasn't seen this year.
I think Clemson will win by attacking the secondary.
My guess is we'll open up the passing game early with a bunch of quick slants/curls to pull pressure off of Tajh. After that we'll probably start to see Ellington get the ball more out of the Pistol or passes out of the backfield.
We'll probably hit a few deep shots to Nuk/Sammy for some free points at some point to help out as well.

Clemson is flat out just gonna score more points than USCjr. Clemson played a great 3 quarters against FSU, but was beat by there depth on the defensive side of the ball in the 4th quater. Clemson traveled to tally and covered the spread. FSU is a complete package on D and has twice the talent on the O side of the ball that the coots have. The only thing that they have going for them is there D-line. The back 7 are subpar and if our O-line can hold up as well as they did in tally then Tajh will pick them apart... Carolina will score plenty of points because our D is a dumpster fire but the tigers win by 17...

say we were going to "have a cakewalk" over Usuc. 5 weeks ago, I thought we were going to get beat. But our def has improved a lot and Boyd and our OL has improved a lot and Sammy has finally gotten back to last years form. Meanwhile, Usuc has shown some ###### in the armour with giving up all the rushing yards to LSU and all the passing yards (a Clemson strength) to Tennessee. Now I'm defintely not saying it will be a blow out or guaranteeing victory but I do think that the real "Death Valley" will be a HUGE factor on our side. Basically it comes down to how well our OL protects Boyd and blocks for the run game (very important for us to slow down your rush) and how well our def handles Shaw's read option and passes off of the play action. I think we win but believe it will be close unless one team wins turnover margin by a two or more. My honest assessment today but we both still have 2 more games to play before our big game.

Clemson will win. Our offense is better then it was last year. The defense has improved during the season. The game is in The Valley. Also, we have lost three straight to you and that can be a strong motivating factor. I also think the Tigers just want this one a little more than the Gamecocks.
But, that's why they play the game on the field and not on paper.

Granted, UGA is proving to be a good team and SCAR jumped on them early and often in a rabid atmosphere. I give them a lot of credit for such a decisive victory. UGA had an off night just as Clemson did against WVU. Clemson was not as bad as the score indicated and WVU was not as good. The same can be said for UGA and SCARs fortunes - though I do believe that SCAR is a better team than UGA.
All that being said, I see no other "quality" wins for SCAR. Tennessee's record is close to that of Auburn's so that doesn't count as a quality win.
Clemson lost at FSU. SCAR beat UGA at home.
I give them credit against for fighting LSU tough in Baton Rouge, but moral victories don't count. Just like Clemson playing FSU tough for three quarters doesn't count as well.
When it comes down to it, the two teams are looking pretty evenly matched. I'm looking forward to an awesome and very close game with the Tigers coming out victoriously 38-35 and me with an ulcer after the fact.

The reason we "thing" we will stomp a mudhole out of y'all is because you deserve it. You deserve every bit of pain and misery that is coming on Nov. 24, and we will sit back and relish it.
It's like watching the Commie bad guys in a Rambo movie. They have the upper hand for a while, beat Rambo up and dump him in a pit of hog feces, but you know ... you KNOW ... it's going to even out.
You have a stout defensive line that can pressure a QB who doesn't have a variety of weapons to use in response. You also have a secondary that has been torched by a variety of middling offenses.
Your offense is nowhere near the best we've seen this season, either on the ground or in the air. That sense of confusion y'all exploited in us last year no longer exists. You'll get yards, sure ... ####, Boston College got yards. Furman got yards.
But you won't get points. And if you don't keep up with us, especially in the second half when Clowney and his cohorts are doubled over, gasping for air and vainly looking to your spigot-mouthed coach for a breather that isn't coming, then you'll wonder why on Earth you asked this question in the first place.
You cannot stay ahead.
You cannot keep up.
You cannot stop us.
You cannot win.
And THAT is why we say you are going to lose. Because it is the inevitable way of the world.
To think otherwise is the feathered folly of capons who cannot come to grasp with the realization that their time atop the coop is coming to an end.

Let's assume, just while we're waiting for election results, that y'all are able to consistently get through the O Line.
Then, we'll go to the short game. Ol' Hopalong Clowney isn't faster than Boyd's quick release. And given the inability of y'all's secondary to contain, once we're past the D Line, there is very little y'all can do about it.
In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Morris puts in quite a few plays specifically designed to take advantage of your propensity to bring pressure.
It really does boil down to whether you wish to be crushed quickly or meet your demise at the hand of a hundred razor blades.

Actually, our offense punched FSU in the mouth so hard they didn't know what hit them. Unfortunately, our "green" defense couldn't contain them. The D has progressively gotten better over the season. Sure we have played lesser competition, but we got the job done more-so that last season. We are loaded in the offensive skill positions and sc's secondary is suspect. The D line is stout, but we can stretch the field. Conner is not 100% as said becuase we saw him favor the same shoulder vs Tennessee. Lattimore is out. Lastly we have home field advantage with a Sugar Bowl bid on the line and sc has struggled on the road all season.
I don't think it will be a cake walk, but I do think Clemson wins by 10-14.

We also got torched by a top 15 offense in Florida State, they can move the ball, no matter how you slice it they have playmakers too. South Carolina's offense isn't Florida State's, it isn't Tennessee's, and it most certainly isn't Clemson's. Try to keep up with Tajh and his boys.

Teenager and the game was a given for the most part, I was more than willing to remind USC fans of how bad they were. During my 20s and 30s I "grew up" and quit doing this. Maybe it was because it just wasn't fun anymore and it was pretty much a given that we had 4 out of every 5. I will say that it is funny how consistently losing for most of a persons adult life and now suddenly winning a few has caused my 40 yr old gamecock friends to completely lose all sense of humility. These guys did not grow up with me so they cannot say they are paying me back. I have known most of them for at least 15 yrs and they have shown More arrogance and given me more crap in the past 3 yrs than I have in the previous 12 combined. As to most level headed CU fans I think they we want a blowout but expect a close win. Time for things to get back to normal

I used to not pull against SC when they weren't playing Clemson. Then I got cussed at by a couple of SC fans I considered close friends. One of them all I said was "good game" after a Clemson win....
The other time all I was doing was giving this guy a hard time when Cooterlina was losing a game and he got personal.. I won't repeat his words here.
I mean it's unreal... they don't know how to lose gracefully and they certainly don't know how to handle winning.... A friend of mine who played golf for Clemson was recently out at a restaurant was introduced to a guy who happened to be a SC fan.... Now keep in mind they just met. The SC guy notices the orange C or whatever my friend had on and just really told a pretty offensive story about Clemson.... I mean, why would you even go there...?
Needless to say I have a very bad taste in my mouth for University of Cootville...

Also, has SC really done that much? They beat UGA at home, which was great, but otherwise they have beaten likewise mediocre at best teams and lost two games to two very good teams. I will give them some credit for close loss to LSU, and I think they have achieved a little more than Clemson, but do you really think it's significantly more?????

Are you even a Clemson fan? South Carolina competes with the likes of Kentucky, Vandy, and Tennessee. Not really much to brag about.. they got destroyed by one of the worst offensives teams in the SEC (Florida). Gamecocks can't handle the small success that they have had these past two years. I can't take away from the fact that they have beaten us for three years, but it's the third time it's ever happened. Clemson owns South Carolina. That's a fact, and Dabo couldn't have said it better than he did last December. As for this year, nobody can predict the future. But Clemson in Death Valley is nearly unstoppable. We haven't lost at home since 2010. The Shamecocks' best two players are hurt. We all know about Lattimore and Clowney has a foot injury. Clemson has one of the best offense in the nation. South Carolina has a great defense, but nobody can stop Tajh, Nuk, Sammy, and Andre. See you November 24th.

A) our offense is much better this year (only sencond year for Morris) and has played a better opponent in a hostile environment and played well
B) our defense has made plenty of personal changes and has improved over the last 3 games under a first year coordinatior
C) USCjr has played one decent game against an average UGA team. Yes average, if you saw the UF/ UGA game, it was a disgrace btw two "top ten" teams
d) Our O is more explosive than the Tenn team that took your team to the brink (after some questionable calls -Same Tenn team barely beat Troy - wow).
e) as stated earlier, ya'll don't exactly light it up in away games. This environment will be more hostile than LSU because 90% of the fans hate your team with a passion and it will be obvious
f) without Lattimore, Shaw will have to win the game and after a few big hits, he plays like a stray dog in traffic. Once Shaw gets out of his element, he's too scared to win or lose the game.
g) Our QB is more mobile and accurate and our recievers will be the best by far ya'll have seen in a long, long time.

Having said that, we're going to kick your sorry a##es up and down the field for the following reasons -
1. You've shown this season your inability to stop any team having an offense with a pulse, including your last game, at home, against Tennessee. Your team has two outstanding defensive ends. When we're not gashing your interior for yards on the ground, we will be blistering your secondary in the air. You won't stop us from scoring, and it's going to be painful to watch.
2. Your team has no offense. The only thing you've had going for you the past three years is Spurrier's ability to gameplan Steele's defensive playcalling and keep your offense on the field eating up clock. The talent is not there to do real damage, and neither is Steele. I will say that our 2010 team was not very good overall and we could have, and did, lose to just about anyone. That day is gone.
3. Your team sucks on the road. Vandy nearly ruined your defending 5th place SEC status on day one. And you beat KY, which lost by 40 to Vandy and has now fired their head coach mid-season they are so bad. Not exactly Road Warrior material. You were dominated in the 4th quarter at LSU against a team that has no passing offense, and you were embarrassed to the point of making ESPN's 3 biggest October fails against Florida, which also has no passing offense. Keep in mind that outside of playing each other and looking like crap in the process, SEC teams, including yourself, have played no one. No one.
4. The Tigers are gelling in front of the nation's eyes as our talent-laden youth come of age game by game. We're hungry, talented, young, and more pi##ed than Mangus on Main Street, and only getting stronger. As usual, USuC has folded under the pressure of high expectations, and what promised to be a coot parade to a championship has become a stumble to the end of the season. From #3 to 9-3. The only thing your team can contribute to the national scene at this point is not ####### up against Arkansas or Wofford so you don't diminish the limelight that's going to be on our game Nov. 24th and costing us hosting Gameday.
