Is go public and give the Heisman trophy to Deshawn Watson. It would make people respect him more.

This isn't about respect.Lamar won nothing more than a popularity contest.
DeShaun actually won the bigger award as Quarterback of the year(The Davey O'Brien Award).
Heck,you could even make the argument that Mike Williams,or even Ben Boulware were Clemson's
Most Valuable Player,which is what the "ACTUAL "Heisman Award was "ORIGINALLY" intended to be.
The thing is,the only thing Louisville had going this year was Lamar.Without him,they were middle of the pack,or worse.
Clemson had too many weapons.Let Lamar keep his tarnished Trophy.DeShaun,and Clemson have a bigger one in sight.
Then maybe people,and the Media will finally respect us.

FWIW: I was going to post a separate thread before I saw this one, but IMO 2016 was the year that The Heisman Trophy officially became a joke. Not to take anything away from LJ, but that trophy now means nothing to me. It's just a joke, and was headed that way last year as they gave it to the wrong person last year too. It used to mean something, now it's just media hype and BS - NOTHING MORE. Maybe they should rename it "The ESPN Meaningless Trophy" or some kind of "Participation Trophy". Thanks for playing - here's your trophy.

Johnny Unitas and Davy O'Brien awards are much more indicative of what's important in a QB than The Heisman.

There is little doubt that Deshaun is the best QB in the nation and he is also the best team leader.

And most importantly ... he is a WINNER!
