Classy Move by Texas A&M

Feb 6, 2014, 11:31 AM

DB from Texas committed to the Aggies prior to his Junior year and was then diagnosed with a career-ending condition. Despite the non-binding oral agreement, A&M has decided to honor the scholarship.

I'd expect no less from them. It is a classy institution and fan base

Clemson & A&M in the SEC would of made a good classy rivalry

Feb 6, 2014, 11:36 AM

something the SEC lacks. It may have upgraded the class of the fans at the SEC

But instead they Get SC as their rival.

Clemson and A&M are very similar, it seems. ******

TAMU and Clemson sent the most officers into WWII

TAMU 1 and CU no 2 if memory serves me correctly.

Yes, that's true (after the academies, of course). ******

Well, I hope aTm destroys the coots every year forever.

Feb 6, 2014, 11:52 AM

Not that I wouldn't root for them anyways but this just reaffirms how CLASSLESS the coots have become.

How? How does Texas A&M doing something good reaffirm the classlessness of the coots?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Well, I hope aTm destroys the coots every year forever.

Feb 6, 2014, 12:08 PM

A&M offering to take a kid on for the next four year stands in stark contrast to the program that, under NCAA sanctions, just oversigned by 8 players. Every kid they just signed gets a year. So this spring and summer, 8 kids who have given blood and sweat for that program will have their existing scholarships yanked from them. It is a practice against the rules in the Big 10 and that Auburn, Florida, and Georgia have already voluntarily done away with.

It doesn't. Those are two separate thing

Things. The coot's classless behavior is in the league of its own

I approve this message, and will thoroughly enjoy leading a group of red ### Aggies in an invasion of Columbia. The likes of which have not been seen since General Sherman properly disposed of that fine city.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL...that fine city...lol

Feb 6, 2014, 12:19 PM

You have obviously never been to Columbia, SC

Sherman was trying to do us all a favor.

Columbia is a total cesspool

You missed my point

Feb 6, 2014, 12:39 PM

Sherman properly dealt with that terrible city while leaving Charleston alone.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Still wonder when they're ever going to rebuild Columbia

Feb 6, 2014, 3:43 PM

after that. Haven't seen Cola in few years but they are welcome to start anytime.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's WAY past the point of rebuilding....

Feb 6, 2014, 4:08 PM

They just need to completely level it and start over.

If we had a recruit in the same circumstance

Feb 6, 2014, 1:53 PM

We would do it too.

It doesn't really cost the football program anything outside of a little cash.

I don't understand where all this classy stuff comes from. Every school in America would honor this kids scholarship. It does not count against the 85 limit. Its good publicity. Clemson has done Carolina has done it and I'm sure a number of other schools have doe it as well. Its one of the few things in the NCAA rules that helps the students.
