Watching BC vs VT

Nov 8, 2018, 2:08 PM

And all I can say is man those TE's know how to get open! They really utilize their TE's well and definitely going to be a day our LB's have to pay attention, Joseph being a veteran I expect that he will do great in coverage all day.

Unfortunately a tight end that can run good routes and get open in coverage has been a thorn in the side of Brent V defense for a while now. While I do not think that it will be nearly enough to beat us, it will probably be an issue against us. We still win by more than 17 points.

More so a thorn in Ben B's side. As good as a run stopper he was he wasn't quick enough to cover a TE and we got killed by TE's with him out there in a couple of games. I think we're a lot better with that now.

Last week the announcers were all over how fast one of the Louisville receivers were and Jalen Williams was right there in coverage with him a few times Jalen may have been a step behind but the way they were talking the kid was a track star from south Florida. The LB's that we put on the field can cover and our starters have the size, speed, and talent to make the TE's really fight for everything they get.

Those days are gone...

The current Clemson LB corp are big, fast, and they can cover.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Yes, I think that will be our only weakness

as it generally has been.

Clemson's only real weakness is the punter***

Not really, but I don't won't to list them. BC might read this board. :)

I am hoping that our incredible D prevents BC from having time to exploit our weaknesses. I think we outscore them even if they manage to find ways to score on us.

VT also has a bad defense

And they’re playing a lot of young guys major snaps. Dax Hollifield is playing a lot and he still hasn’t found a pair of cleats not made out of lead.

Good points re TEs being able to exploit us in the past. However, the key is 'in the past'. As others have pointed out, we have faster LBs that cover well. Also, BV has learned for the past.
