Holy #### they are entitled. Have they not noticed how bad they are and that they are likely to be on probation for years? They all want "A proven rebuilding HC". LOL and who would that be and why would he go to Tenn??
It's also ironic how they want a proven rebuilder when Tony was front and center for one of the biggest rebuilds in 30 years. Clemson was in better shape and didn't have NCAA violations but it was also a smaller program than Tenn with less resources. We also did it with a "WR Coach".

Tony Elliott would bring integrity and culture change to Tennessee. He learned from Dabo, after all! Not to mention, he’s a great recruiter. Will he be able to turn things around fast enough to suit the big donors? I don’t know. But truthfully, who is out there that could turn that dumpster fire around in less than 5 years? UT doesn’t deserve a man like TE. BUT, if he takes the job I’ll be rooting for him. Go Tigers!

If he goes I sure hope he gets an iron clad 10 year contract for millions. That mess isn't going to get turned around in 3-4 years!

Dabo go for the new OC? Can't believe Streeter is ready for this yet. He needs to make a home run hire, ala Venables, to keep our O going. I'm sure he'd have no shortage of applications.

What are you basing Streeter not being ready off of? One game where he was put into that role a few days before the game? Geez

Do what you gotta do but protect yourself with a long contract. Besides money there's no point in taking over a team that is a complete dumpster fire that will get you fired in 2-3 years. Don't pull a Chad Morris or Willie Taggart. If Tenn is on significant sanctions it will basically be impossible to win there.
I still don't get why Scott/Elliot aren't offered more serious jobs. I know Tenn is a big program but I'm still shocked that big teams that aren't complete dumpster fires aren't offering. I think next year will be a big year for coaching hires. Less COVID passes keeping guys on staff.

Not true. Too many Colleges have unrealistic expectations. Though these teams have their challenges GT, Miami, Mich State, VT, Virginia, UNC have all changed coaches somewhat recently and none were complete dumpster fires. Even TA&M, LSU, and Auburn have had recent changes without being anywhere near rock bottom.
Tenn will be on it's 6th coach in 14 years following 4, 5, 8, and 3 win seasons AND with with either NCAA violations or $10M missing from the budget for failing to establish cause for firing Pruit. UT is 10-24 vs the SEC the last 4 seasons. They lost more games this season than Clemson lost the last 5 seasons.

It’s been strangely quiet, that’s for sure. Some on here will find out quickly how much he has meant to this team if he does leave.

I think the Covid thing has kept some coaches from getting fired. The coach is blaming Covid for his team's poor performance and the administration is using it to retain that coach another year and avoiding a year of buyout money.

disagree, but I see UT as a sleeping giant. Facillities, stadium, game day environment, loyal fans, money, they've got it all. If they can keep their nose clean and manage expectations Elliott or any good coach could build a winner there. That could be a big "if", however.

But that school has a top to bottom issue.....not just the athletics department.
Coach Dabo has said how important it is for all to be on the same page....from the president, to the trustees, to the AD, to the coaches, to the players
I can't help but want to shield TE from UT.

nose clean and manage expectations". If they give the right coach time to do it the right way, including the wherewithall to build the culture (because the current culture is the problem), then it can be done. The fact that they have zeroed in on TE, a Dabo disciple, makes me think they may realize that needs to be done, but I don't know. If they try to force the UT culture of the past 20 years on him, he will fail hard and fast.

The Haslams are a main contributor to UT’s problems. Google them. Even Vol fans can’t stand them. I truly hope TE stays the #### away from Knoxville. He’s too good of a man and coach to get dragged into that cess pool culture.

TENN is a sleeping giant. The fans, alums and boosters want success. The administration wants it. Tony Elliott represents a clean-nosed and successful honest broker. For lack of a better Clemson analogy, Coach Elliott represents Ken Hatfield. It's his job to win and power wash the dirt, mold and mildew off the Vol program which hasn't been the same since Charlie Whitehurst and team pounded Fulmer in the Peach Bowl.
Elliott has a tough road against him. But he has a shot, unlike he would have at many programs, at rebuilding and in 3-4 years possibly excelling in SEC Least. And if the rumor is accurate, big money talks a lot more than being a lifetime assistant at his alma mater. Elliott is as ready as he'll ever be -- good luck Coach Elliott!

Why is Tenn. expected to get a severe penalty but not UGA. Didn't they basically do the same thing ?

Maybe they discussed him at the top of the show....but for the last half, all they talked about is potential coaches and almost all of them were former or current head coaches.

Yes, they are entitled. Their new "logic" is that they either want a head coach or someone who has not been coaching 5* players such as those at Bama (Pruitt) and Clemson (Elliot). Ridiculous. Really hope for TE he doesn't go this route.
It's out of my control, but I don't think they will like his intelligent, soft spoken personality. They like a loud, blubbering BS-er.

But they've hired what is considered an excellent AD, so maybe he could talk TE into it. There is a lot of smoke around this, so we'll see. I would be surprised but not shocked if he's the next TN coach.
