My solution for this year is to play a 3 game schedule

with only Clemson, bama, LSU, and Ohio State participating. Each team gets a tune up game of there choosing, we repeat the payoff's in September, then call it a day.
Besides, It seems like most of the games are rather pointless anyway, most teams have no shot to reach the playoffs, so their is no point in watching them play. My solution adresses this problem and streamlines the sport.

If someone goes undefeated, they are the champ. If no one is undefeated, two best records play a rematch (plus a third game to break the tie, if needed).
Play half the games in a Big 12 venue and half in a PAC 12 venue.
